In technology strategy at PwC, you will specialise in developing and implementing strategic plans to leverage technology for business growth and innovation. You will analyse market trends, assess organisational needs, and provide guidance on technology investments and initiatives. Working in this area, you will collaborate with stakeholders to align technology strategies with overall business objectives to increase utilisation of technology resources, driving competitive advantage.

Practice Service Offerings

PwC Canada’s Technology Strategy & Transformation practice is aimed at providing client solutions that are directly related to the CIO/CTO, managing/transforming business functions and providing diligence with respect to technologies involved. Our range of services includes delivery of client engagements in the following areas:

  • Technology Strategy: IT Strategy, M&A / Due Diligence, Application Portfolio Assessments, Systems Advisory, Business Continuity & Risk, Business case development, Emerging technology and innovation
  • IT Function Transformation: IT operating model transformation and organization design, IT process and service management, DevOps and IT transformation, Technology governance, IT expert services, Agile transformation
  • Strategic IT sourcing: Strategic sourcing, Request-for-proposal support (design and build), Contract review and optimization, Contract negotiation services, Feasibility assessment, Transition support services
  • Cloud Advisory and FinOps: Cloud Strategy & Readiness, Cloud Governance, FinOps Strategy & Operating Model, Cloud Cost Optimisation
  • Architecture & Integration: Technology effectiveness, Enterprise architecture, Digital business architecture, Solution architecture, Integration services
  • Technology project delivery: Project and program management (PPM) services, Product management, Agile Services, Application development, Innovate and prototype technology solutions, PPM assessment services, Testing as a Service

Responsibilities

Engagement Delivery and Management

  • Understand how IT strategy supports client business strategy, and help clients to define the right technology solutions to move their business forward
  • Work with clients to understand the root causes of problems and turn analysis into insights based on experience
  • Assess operational readiness for the rollout of new products and services, and document, re-design and implement technology related processes
  • Communicate complex material effectively in written and oral formats to various audiences
  • Manage the delivery (including project economics) of technology advisory and consulting projects comprising of multiple resources and teams, ensuring the quality of deliverables and that clients are satisfied with the work

Business Development

  • Support pursuit teams and proposal development, including innovative approaches and methodologies tailored to address specific client requirements 
  • Bring experience and work closely with PwC Canada Team to identify new opportunities in the market
  • Develop a deep understanding of our clients’ business needs and help shape the technology solutions and services provided to them
  • Stay abreast of key technology and industry developments related to our client’s business
  • Work with our Technology Strategy & Transformation practice areas to develop and tailor service offerings to meet our client needs (e.g., Strategy, Architecture, Agile Program Delivery)

People Development

  • Work as a people development leader, coach, and mentor, and play an active role in the development of goals, objectives and focus areas for our staff
  • Support team activities to foster an environment of collaboration and success

Skills & Experiences

  • 13+ years of experience in management consulting, with a proven track record of delivering successful Technology Strategy projects
  • Experience in any or all the following areas will be an asset:
    • Developing Digital Strategy, including conducting maturity or needs assessments, identifying and prioritizing opportunities / projects, developing roadmaps and estimates, and building consensus with client stakeholders
    • Advising on, or developing Technology and IT operating models, including governance models and processes
    • Advising on, or developing Enterprise Applications (SAP/Oracle/Salesforce etc.) roadmaps, blueprints and implementation roadmaps that align technology investments with critical business priorities
    • Advising clients on Enterprise Architecture Strategy, aligning IT and Business goals, and developing roadmap blueprints to support Digital Transformation.
    • AI, Automation, Integration, Analytics and BI, Blockchain, IoT, and other emerging technologies
  • Demonstrated skills in technology and business, problem-solving, team coordination and communication, and executive engagement
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to effectively interpret and analyze complex data sets.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences.
  • Proficiency in using various analytical tools and software, such as Excel, PowerPoint, and data visualization tools.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Demonstrated capability in thought leadership, new business development and proposal development,
  • A demonstrated commitment to valuing differences, developing and coaching diverse teams, and ensuring diverse perspectives are heard

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Business Administration and Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science
  • Certifications relevant to any of the following or more areas -
    • Cloud-based service providers like AWS, Microsoft, GCP, etc.
    • TOGAF, ITIL 4, COBIT certifications
