Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will develop software components for Ethernet Access devices used for provisioning and monitoring services in Carrier Ethernet Networks. You will be part of a scrum team focusing on the development of features running on telecom equipment, working on long-term projects. Your responsibilities include assisting in system design, designing, implementing, and debugging C++ applications, refactoring and redesigning existing software components, and performing unit and integration tests of software modules.
Must have:
  • Very good C/C++ programming skills.
  • Object-oriented software development skills.
  • Practical experience in using Linux as a development environment.
Good to have:
  • Good knowledge of IP, UDP, TCP.
  • Solid understanding of data communications networking with emphasis on Ethernet technologies.
  • Familiarity with IEEE/ITU-T/MEF/EFM networking standards.
  • Familiarity with management protocols (SNMP, NETCONF).

We are currently looking for a highly motivated Senior Software Engineer to join our R&D team.

Your principal duties and essential functions

As a Senior Software Engineer in a scrum team, you will focus on developing software components for Ethernet Access devices that are used for provisioning and monitoring services in Carrier Ethernet Networks. The software is implemented based on telecom standards like IEEE, MEF, or ITU. You will be a member of a scrum team responsible for the vertical development of features running on telecom equipment. We are working on long-term projects and are interested in a long-term cooperation.

Your tasks and responsibilities

  • Provide assistance in the systems’ design activities

  • Design, implement and debug C++ applications

  • Refactor and redesign existing software components

  • Perform Unit Tests of software modules

  • Perform Integration Tests of software modules

Technology we use

  • Workstation: Linux

  • Target system: Linux

  • Programming language: C++

  • IDE: Arbitrary

  • Version control system: GIT

Knowledge, skills and experience required

  • Ability to work at the system architecture level in multiple areas of the system or as an expert in a significant technology domain

  • Very good C/C++ programming skills

  • Object-oriented software development skills

  • Practical experience in the use of Linux as a development environment (development, debugging)

Optional requirements

  • Good knowledge of IP, UDP, TCP

  • Solid understanding of data communications networking with an emphasis on Ethernet technologies

  • Familiarity with IEEE/ITU-T/MEF/EFM networking standards

  • Familiarity with management protocols (SNMP, NETCONF)
