Senior Software Engineer in Python and AWS

ISS STOXX is actively looking for a Senior Software Engineer in Python and AWS to join the Mumbai Team (Goregaon East).

As a Senior Software Engineer, you will take ownership of complex technical projects, guide the development of high-quality code, and mentor junior engineers. You will be responsible for ensuring that the architecture, design, and implementation of our products are scalable and maintainable. You will also play a crucial role in collaborating with cross-functional teams to solve technical challenges and deliver holistic solutions that align with both business needs and technical requirements.

Responsibilities:

•  Code Quality: Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code, adhering to best practices, coding standards, and performance optimizations. 

•  Architecture & Design: Understand and contribute to the overall system architecture and ensure alignment with business goals. 

•  Code Reviews : Actively participate in and lead code reviews, providing constructive feedback and ensuring that high-quality standards are met. 

•  Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Quality Assurance, Product Management, and other engineering teams to ensure that features are built, tested, and deployed efficiently and on time. 

•  Leadership : Take full ownership of assigned technical projects, ensuring timely and successful delivery. Act as a mentor to junior engineers and help foster a collaborative and productive team culture. 

•  Continuous Learning: Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and frameworks, and adapt new tools to improve development processes and product quality. 

•  Agile Practices: Actively engage in Agile Scrum processes, including sprint planning, standups, retrospectives, and backlog grooming, to ensure that development goals are met efficiently. 

•  Business Acumen: Understand the business context of the products and actively contribute to delivering technical solutions that align with both technical and business objectives. 

•  Global Collaboration: Communicate effectively with global business and technical teams, ensuring alignment on requirements, timelines, and technical designs.

Qualifications:  

• Education: Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science or other equivalent degree.

•  Total Experience: 5-7 years of professional experience in software development, with a focus on building and maintaining scalable applications.

•  Python Expertise: At least 2+ years of professional experience working with Python, with a deep understanding of its libraries, frameworks, and best practices.

•  Database Experience: Minimum of 2+ years of hands-on experience with SQL-based databases such as MySQL, Postgres, or similar.

•  AWS Cloud experience: 2+ years of working on AWS cloud 

•  Version Control: Expertise with Git, SVN, or other version control tools. Comfortable with branching strategies, merge conflicts, and pull requests.

•  Agile Methodologies: Strong experience with Agile/Scrum software development practices and tools (e.g., Jira, Trello).

•  Problem-Solving: Strong analytical skills with a demonstrated ability to identify and solve complex technical problems.

•  Mentorship: Proven ability to mentor junior developers, provide technical guidance, and help guide teams through challenges.

•  Communication: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Able to explain complex technical issues clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Good to have:  

•  Containerization & DevOps: Experience with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines is highly desirable. 

•  Additional Languages & Frameworks: Experience with additional programming languages or frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Java, Go) is a bonus. 

•  JavaScript : Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks (e.g., React/TypeScript) is a plus
