ALTEN Technology USA is seeking a Systems Engineer with a focus on Medical Devices. This role involves working with project leads and cross-functional teams to direct high-level activities, communicate requirements and risks, and interact with customers on technical aspects. The engineer will identify and mitigate system product risks, optimize system design, and coordinate integration and verification efforts. Responsibilities include managing configuration management, providing technical status reports, organizing design reviews, and identifying scope creep. The position may also involve assisting with project management duties and supporting the sales process for quoting future projects. Systems Engineering tasks include developing Concepts of Operations, requirement solicitation, Use Cases, Behavior Diagrams, Trade Studies, System Architecture, Interface Control Documents, Risk Analysis, and Verification Plans, utilizing documentation tools or MBSE software.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical Management
  • 4+ years of experience in Medical Devices product development
  • Experience with requirement tools
  • Good knowledge of Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering
Good to have:
  • Experience with Models Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Software

As a Systems Engineer you will be responsible for;

  • Works with the project leads in a variety of disciplines to direct their high level activities.
  • Comfortable working at various levels on a project team, and across multiple disciplines.
  • Work with the project team to communicate requirements, risks, and cross functional issues.
  • Interact with customer to communicate technical aspects of the project.
  • Identify system product risks and mitigations.
  • Work with the project team to optimize the design of the system.
  • Coordinate and/or lead integration and verification efforts.
  • Manage the configuration management process.
  • Interface with project manager to provide technical status reports and ensure customer needs are met.
  • Organize design reviews and providing the systems engineering content therein.
  • Identify scope creep and inform the project manager.
  • May assist temporarily with some project management duties if the project manager is unavailable (sick leave, vacation, etc.).
  • Assists in the sales process for quoting and estimating future projects.

  • Systems engineering documentation and modeling may be done with both basic documentation tools (Visio, Word, Excel, SharePoint, etc.) or Models Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Software (e.g. Innoslate, Cradle).

Qualifications;

  • Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree (B.S.), from a technical college or university in an Engineering or Technical Management field
  • 4+ years of engineering/product development experience with Medical Devices
  • Good working knowledge of multiple engineering disciplines, including Mechanical, Electrical, and Software Engineering highly desired.
  • Experience working with variety of requirement tools 

 

Location: Westminster, CO

Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000

The actual salary offered is dependent on various factors including, but not limited to, location, the candidate’s combination of job-related knowledge, qualifications, skills, education, training, and experience
