As an Associate Director in Software Engineering, you will provide leadership and guidance to multiple related departments, driving the strategic direction and implementation of software solutions. You will ensure that departments meet their performance objectives and deliver innovative products that enhance business operations. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement. Responsibilities include making critical decisions related to product feature prioritization, resource allocation, and technical approaches, and effectively communicating in a matrixed organization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams like Product Management, Architecture, IT Ops, Production Support, and Implementation. Foster strong, cohesive software engineering teams, encourage collaboration, and maintain positive interpersonal relationships. Monitor development processes, framework adoption, and project surroundings to ensure adherence to modern architectural patterns and standards. Conduct performance evaluations, lead and manage teams of managers, tech leads, and software engineers, providing guidance and motivation. Solve complex problems, provide innovative solutions, and develop objectives and strategies for software projects in alignment with business objectives. Coach and develop team members, evaluate information and products for compliance with industry standards, and estimate for SAFe PIs and Iterations.
Must have:
  • 15+ years in Product Engineering
  • .NET, .NET Core, Azure, Angular, React & SQL
  • Experience with Gen/Agentic AI, Cloud trends
  • Stakeholder management (Product Mgmt, Arch, IT Ops, IT Security)

Job Details

As an Associate Director in Software Engineering, you will provide leadership and guidance to multiple related departments, driving the strategic direction and implementation of software solutions. You will ensure that departments meet their performance objectives and deliver innovative products that enhance business operations. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities:
Make critical decisions related to product feature prioritization, resource allocation, and technical approaches.
Effectively communicate in a matrixed organization with supervisors, peers, and subordinates to ensure alignment and collaboration within the organization.

Effectively collaborate/negotiate with cross functional teams like Product management (business), Architecture, IT Ops, Production-support, Implementation
Foster the development of strong and cohesive software engineering teams, encouraging collaboration and mutual support.
Establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships within the team and across departments.
Monitor development processes, framework adoption, and project surroundings to ensure adherence to modern architectural patterns and standards.
Conduct performance evaluations of team members to recognize achievements and identify areas for improvement.
Lead and manage a team of managers, tech leads, software engineers, providing guidance, direction, and motivation to achieve team goals.
Solve complex problems and provide innovative solutions to overcome technical challenges in product development.
Develop objectives and strategies for software projects in alignment with overall business objectives.
Coach and develop team members, providing opportunities for skill growth and career advancement.
Evaluate information and software products to ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices.
Estimate for the SAFe PIs and Iterations, schedule management targeted towards the business priorities

Skills –

The candidate should have 15+ yrs of experience in Product Engineering using technologies .Net, .Net Core, Azure, Angular, React & SQL. He / She should have abilities to align & be comfortable with trends around Gen/Agentic AI, Cloud etc.

He/she should have involved experience in working with various stakeholders incl Product management, Architecture, IT Ops, IT Security & competent teams working with him/her.

He/she should be competent to apply/adopt the software product dev and engineering essentials in terms of –

ore principles of s/w development

DevOps / DevSecOps, DORA

Nonfunctional considerations around Performance, Security, Reliability, Resilience, etc

Multi-platform and multi-device implementation

Disaster recovery

Should be able to work in extremely agile environment being cognizant to fast changing business priorities/requirements.

Should demonstrate flexibility and positive approach to address key business and technology priorities, taking along the team with oneself.
