About the role 

We are seeking an experienced Commercial Counsel to join our Legal Team!  In this role, you will play a key part in advising on complex commercial matters, while helping the company navigate the emerging AI legal landscape.

Your general responsibilities will include: 

• Draft, negotiate, and close complex commercial transactions with the company’s customers, vendors, and strategic partners across diverse industries.

• Partner closely with sales and business teams to develop and execute strategies that drive our high-growth, go-to-market initiatives.

• Stay informed on evolving legal frameworks, industry standards, and regulatory guidance, and apply this expertise to support the development of new contract templates.

• Provide practical, solutions-oriented legal advice to cross-functional teams, ensuring business objectives align with legal and regulatory requirements.

• Develop and refine playbooks, policies, and best practices to improve efficiency in commercial negotiations and contract management.

• Contribute actively to the Legal Team’s efforts to scale commercial functions while fostering a collaborative, supportive team culture.

What you bring

• JD with active membership in at least one U.S. state bar (New York preferred).

• 3+ years of relevant legal experience (in-house experience preferred), with at least 2 years focused on drafting and negotiating SaaS or technology agreements.

• A deep understanding of enterprise software agreements, SaaS licensing, data protection, and intellectual property, with the ability to navigate complex commercial transactions. You know how to structure, draft, and negotiate a variety of agreements for the tech industry.

• A background in privacy and data protection laws that you can apply in commercial negotiations. 

• Excellent analytical and communication skills to support cross-functional teams as well as external clients and partners.

• Cross-border experience, particularly in the U.S., UK, and EU. Dual-qualification is a plus.

Compensation Range: $190K - $240K
