Position Overview:

The EVM Analyst is primarily dedicated to the FAcT Program and holds a key planning role to ensure the program continuously moves forward in accordance with the program strategy and objectives. This position resides within the CAE FAcT Program and reports up to the CAE FAcT Program Director through the CAE FAcT Transition-In Manager. The analyst draws the attention of the executing team to the challenges ahead so that the team can best position themselves to successfully deliver on commitments. The EVM Analyst could be asked to support other programs with Defence and Security Canada from time to time with due consideration to workload and capacity.

The EVM Analyst will be expected to:

  • Support development of program’s cost and schedule baseline to be presented at EVM governance reviews
  • Generate and present EVM reporting to customers including briefings to the Prime Contractor and the Government of Canada as required
  • Generate and present EVM reporting to CAE leadership
  • Build relationships and effective communications with stakeholders at various level to consolidate relevant information to manage FAcT EVM at multiple levels
  • Develop effective program documentation and briefings
  • Inform stakeholders of project EVM
  • Perform what-if scenarios and impact analysis on the schedule to mitigate risks
  • Make recommendations with respect to best industry processes and tools
  • Mentor more junior planners and PMs on EVM techniques

Essential Qualifications:

  • College or University degree in management, a technical specialization, or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience and ability in Earned Value Management
  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
  • Good communication skills and ability to present complex scenarios to a wide range of audiences in both English and French
  • Proven problem solver who accepts ownership and accountability
  • Able to work collaboratively across organizations

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Earned Value Management certification such as PMI’s Earned Value Professional (EVP)
  • Project management certification (e.g., CAPM, PMP)
  • Defence & Security or related program experience
  • Experience with schedule risk management
