What We Need

2K is looking for a seasoned and strategic Executive Producer to join our Publishing team. You’ll partner with one of our exceptional studios to lead cross-functional alignment and ensure excellence in both product development and publishing, delivering a high-quality, genre-defining new entry in one of 2K’s most iconic and beloved franchises. Reporting to the VP of Publishing, you’ll guide the studio and game through critical milestones to a successful launch and post-launch operations. Success in this role depends on your deep production expertise and an ability to influence product strategy, build trust, and drive results through partnership and collaboration. As the voice of the game within 2K and a key advocate for the studio, you’ll align creative vision with business goals and ensure the title delivers an industry-defining player experience that sets the foundation for long-term franchise success. You’ll work closely with Marketing, Commercial, Product Management, and other Publishing teams to connect product and franchise strategy with go-to-market execution. The ideal candidate is a relationship-first leader who thrives in a cross-functional environment, brings clarity to complexity, and relentlessly pushes toward the highest standards of quality.

What You Will Do

  • Industry & Product Expertise - Partner with the studio to define and uphold a compelling product vision grounded in player needs, product-market fit, and high-quality execution. Use player insights, market research, and competitive analysis to shape strategy and inform long-term planning. Collaborate with Marketing, Commercial, and Product Management to launch industry-defining titles that deliver player satisfaction and long-term success for the franchise, studio, and 2K.
  • Judgment & Decision-Making - Act as “Mission Control” for your titles—driving critical decisions with studio and publishing partners that balance product quality, business objectives, and development realities. Monitor P&L, guide strategic trade-offs, and align resources for maximum impact. Take a proactive, data-informed approach to risk management to ensure each title delivers on its creative and commercial potential.

  • Leadership - Guide the studio through milestone gates with consistency and clarity, ensuring alignment on vision, deliverables, and success criteria. Champion cross-functional initiatives that raise the collective bar and drive continuous improvement. Mentor and empower a high-performing publishing production team that thrives on ownership, accountability, and excellence.

  • Relationship Building - Establish and nurture a strong, trust-based partnership with the studio and cross-functional publishing teams. Act as a strategic advisor and thought partner to the development team, ensuring creative direction is continuously aligned with market needs, player expectations, and business objectives. Navigate organizational complexity with empathy and influence, unblocking friction points and uniting teams around a shared mission: to launch games that resonate, perform, and endure.

  • Communication - Act as the internal champion and primary spokesperson for your studio and titles, delivering crisp, compelling communication at all levels of the organization. Synthesize progress, risks, and strategic context into clear narratives that inform, align, and inspire confidence. Tailor your message to fit the moment — whether aligning executives, motivating teams, or enabling fast, effective decision-making across disciplines.

  • Player-Focus - Relentlessly advocate for the player at every stage of the product lifecycle. Maintain a deep understanding of audience needs and motivations, and integrate player feedback, data and insights into core development decisions. Ensure that every feature, content beat, and player touchpoint contributes to an experience that’s engaging, resonant and contributes to the long-term strength of the franchise.

  • Quality-Focus - Champion an uncompromising standard of quality across the product — from gameplay and performance to polish and post-launch support. Define and drive toward ambitious, player-informed quality targets that are creatively bold and operationally feasible. Collaborate deeply with studio, QA, and cross-functional partners to identify risks, resolve issues, and ensure that the game delivers a best-in-class experience worthy of industry recognition and long-term impact.

What Will Make You a Great Fit

  • 10+ years of experience in game production, product management, or related roles, with a strong track record of success on blockbuster AAA console/PC titles—ideally in the narrative action or story-driven genre.
  • Proven experience in game publishing, with the ability to align creative and commercial goals, manage cross-functional relationships, and guide products to market with excellence.
  • Deep expertise in the full game development lifecycle - paired with a sharp understanding of what elevates storytelling, gameplay, and immersion in high-end narrative experiences.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, large-scale game productions from concept through launch, ensuring creative vision is realized at the highest level of quality.
  • Demonstrated excellence in managing budgets, schedules, and cross-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced, creatively ambitious environment.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving skills; comfortable navigating ambiguity and making informed trade-offs that support product and business goals.
  • Exceptional communicator with the ability to present ideas clearly, align stakeholders around a shared vision, and drive decision-making across all functions.
  • Experienced leader and mentor who inspires teams, fosters collaboration, and empowers others to do their best work.
  • Skilled at building trust and alignment across a wide range of partners—developers, executives, and publishing functions alike—through thoughtful communication and a player-first mindset.
  • Deep passion for storytelling in games and a keen ability to articulate what makes narrative, pacing, and character work in a AAA context.
  • Embodies 2K’s values and serves as a role model for excellence, integrity, and creative leadership.

Bonus Points

  • Deep knowledge of the BioShock franchise and why players love it - can articulate from day 1 what must be true to deliver a 90+ game in the series.
  • Local to the studio (Montreal) or willing to travel to be onsite one week per month.
  • A self-motivated, lifelong learner who recognizes the games industry is always evolving; the only constant is change.
