About the role

As a Field Service Technician, you will provide technical assistance and hands-on training to installers on the installation and commissioning of our cutting-edge products. You’ll work closely with end-users, troubleshooting advanced issues, and performing repairs on legacy systems, particularly focusing on energy storage. This role requires strong organizational skills, autonomy, and the ability to thrive in diverse working environments.

What you will be doing

  • Perform on-site repairs: Support installers with diagnosing and resolving technical issues, focusing on Storage and Energy Management Systems. Conduct component replacements and verify system performance to maintain optimal operation.
  • Manage maintenance and repairs: Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on solar and storage systems. Inspect for potential issues, execute necessary repairs, and document actions taken to ensure system reliability.
  • Travel for service calls: Travel to customer locations to perform service, with your schedule managed by our coordinator, ensuring timely repairs and installations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams: Work with Customer Support, Field Applications Engineers and other technicians to resolve complex issues and deliver the best solutions for customers.
  • Document service activities: Maintain accurate records of all repairs, installations, and service actions in internal systems for clear case tracking and communication.
  • Ensure safety and compliance: Follow local electrical codes and safety standards while adhering to internal quality protocols, ensuring all systems meet performance and safety benchmarks.
  • Stay updated on industry trends: Continuously expand your knowledge of solar technology and energy storage, applying the latest developments to provide up-to-date service and guidance.

What you bring

  • Experience: A minimum of 2 years of relevant experience, ideally in power supplies, inverters, connectors, energy storage, or solar power.
  • Education: A bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience is preferred.
  • Certification: Certified (or able to acquire certification) to install electrical storage systems in the country, with valid electrical credentials in the country of operation.
  • Language skills: Fluency in Japanese and high proficiency in English is essential.
  • Organizational skills: Strong attention to detail, time management, and self-organization, especially while travelling.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with a range of stakeholders, including customers and installers.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to work flexible hours to accommodate customer and installer needs.
  • Professionalism: Represent with a professional demeanour, acting as a trusted ambassador for the company in all customer-facing interactions.
