Job Description

The LATAM Legal & Compliance Specialist will oversee all compliance activities for Sporty's Brazilian and LATAM entities. Responsibilities include drafting and maintaining corporate policies, managing legal tasks, ensuring compliance with AML/CTF regulations, serving as a main point of contact for compliance matters, providing legal counsel, managing litigations, ensuring advertising compliance, and developing compliance training programs. The role requires strong legal expertise, experience in iGaming compliance (beneficial), and excellent organizational and communication skills. The successful candidate will report to the Brazilian Legal & Compliance Director, LATAM Finance Director, and LATAM Country Managers.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's degree in Law (+5 yrs experience)
  • Active OAB registry
  • AML/CTF experience
  • Compliance audit & reporting
  • Fluency in English & Portuguese
  • Drafting and reviewing legal documents
Good to have:

The LATAM Legal & Compliance Specialist will oversee all compliance-related activities for the company's Brazilian and LATAM entities, ensuring adherence to regulatory frameworks, licensing and certification conditions, and internal policies. 

This role includes the execution of operational routine tasks, managing audits, ensuring effective record-keeping, and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders to maintain regulatory compliance and mitigate risks, reporting to the Brazilian Legal & Compliance Director, to the LATAM Finance Director, and to the LATAM Country Managers.


Responsibilities:

- Draft, oversee, review, and maintain corporate policies and procedures to comply with current laws and regulations, liaising with the internal areas to ensure alignment with the product;

- Execute and manage legal & compliance routinely tasks across Brazilian and LATAM entities under supervision;

- Ensure compliance with customer due diligence, suspicious transaction reporting, and record-keeping as outlined in the applicable laws and regulations;

- Serve as the main point of contact and coordinate with internal teams to fulfill compliance and regulatory requirements and deadlines effectively;

- Provide support as a counselor when necessary in reviewing agreements and general advising, as well in handling administrative and judicial litigations with external third-party providers;

- Ensure compliance with advertising standards to prevent misleading marketing, renewal of the applicable licenses, and processes, self-exclusion policies and provide reports whenever necessary;

- Develop and deliver tailored training programs on compliance matters for company employees related to LATAM countries;



Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Law, with +5yrs post qualification experience. Active OAB registry.

- Previous experience in iGaming industry would be beneficial (betting regulations and best practices, including the
Ordinances enacted by the Regulators);

- Experience in Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) measures;

- Familiarity with compliance audit processes and reporting;

- Excellent organisational, record-keeping and analytical skills.

- Strong interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external stakeholders.

- Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under strict deadlines.

- Fluency in English and Portuguese is a must, Spanish is also desired.
