Scopely is seeking a highly motivated Lead Engineer to join our Playgami team in Mexico City on a hybrid basis!

Playgami is Scopely's internal SaaS platform for games. It offers the tools that help operate our multiplatform games, supports millions of users playing our games daily, and processes the huge amount of data they generate. As a lead engineer, you would be working with a team to develop new features and platform integrations to directly support game teams.
What You’ll Do
Lead and mentor a team of Software Engineers, providing guidance on technical and professional growth
Design, architect and implement features to run world-class games at scale
Drive the integration of new features directly with game teams using technologies like Java, C#, and NodeJs
Own the technical quality and delivery of what the team creates, establishing good practices in software development, infrastructure, and distributed systems
Ensure our systems are reliable, scalable, secure, and highly performant
Develop a deep understanding of each game you are responsible for, providing you with the vital context to make informed, game-specific decisions
Work closely with product managers, designers, and other engineers to align on goals and execution strategies
Share knowledge, provide feedback, and help colleagues both inside and outside of your team
What We’re Looking For
Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
A passion for solving complex problems and translating business needs into robust solutions
Strong leadership skills with a track record of guiding and growing engineering teams
Extensive experience in software development and system design
Mastery of Java, C#, or another OO language, including experience with asynchronous, multi-threaded, parallel programming paradigms
Hands-on experience with cloud computing (AWS, GCP...) and low-latency, high-scale distributed systems
An appreciation for both business context and technical excellence in solution development
Willingness and interest in working across different technologies
A collaborative, team-oriented attitude, taking pride in contributing to high-functioning teams
Nice to have
Web development experience on a modern technology such as React, Vue, or Angular
Experience with and knowledge of Unity Game Engine or a similar technology (i.e. Unreal Engine)
