Description
At Scopely, we care deeply about what we do and want to inspire play every day, whether in our work environments alongside our talented colleagues or through our deep connections with our communities of players. We are a global team of game lovers who are developing, publishing, and innovating the mobile games industry, connecting millions of people worldwide daily.
We are looking for a dynamic Principal Producer to join our team and shape the future of an announced game that will redefine the gaming landscape. As a Principal Producer, you will report directly to the VP of Production and play a pivotal role in establishing the foundation of production for a small but growing team, where the impact of your leadership and vision will be endless. You will oversee the delivery and quality of in-game updates and features, ensuring they meet both player expectations and business objectives. This is a tactical leadership role, combining hands-on experience with the opportunity to build and grow high-performing teams. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and external partners to ensure successful project execution from concept through live operations.
What you’ll do
Direct and oversee the daily activities of both internal and external teams, ensuring that developers meet deadlines, objectives, and quality standards. Act as the primary point of contact for resolving roadblocks and maintaining high performance across disciplines.
Drive how internal and external teams operate by designing, building out, and executing processes (or removing as necessary) to meet both short- and long-term development objectives. This could range from designing a ritual calendar, to building out workflows in Jira, to running daily standup. Be able to do this throughout the lifecycle of a project from concept to live service.
Translate business goals into clear operational and action plans to drive alignment across all teams.
Partner closely with the leadership team to provide clear updates on project status, risks, and deliverables. Ensure effective communication across internal and external teams to maintain alignment on goals and objectives, while managing stakeholder expectations.
Own the communication of project status by tracking goals, challenges, and progress. Proactively identify and manage risks by developing and executing mitigation strategies that ensure successful project outcomes.
Track team capacity and velocity, assess future hiring needs, and identify organizational changes and risks. Provide detailed reports to leadership to support resource planning and strategic decision-making. Proactively work to improve team velocity, capacity, and efficiency to drive high-quality outcomes.
Identify major gaps and challenges in workflows, implementing process and workflow improvements to enhance efficiency. Execute change management initiatives and introduce new rituals to support continuous improvement.
What We’re Looking For
5+ years of experience leading large areas or several small areas on production teams for live service games
Experience working on projects in the early phases of development, as well as at least one shipped live service game
Deep understanding of the breadth of production development methodologies and an ability to pivot processes based on the needs of the project and team
Skills and aptitude in building elegant solutions out in a number of different tools, including Atlassian suite, Google Suite.
Strong organizational and analytical skills; attention to detail
Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to motivate your teammates and influence without authority
Understanding of KPIs, including but not limited to MAU, DAU, ARPPU and conversion rates
Experience with external development teams; distributed development experience is critical
