Through strategic business development, we enable global content teams to experiment and innovate at scale.

The Senior Manager will lead efforts to seed new business development with technology companies, startups, and industry innovators. This role focuses on sourcing, evaluating, and procuring emerging technologies that enhance Netflix’s creative and production capabilities. By actively engaging with the startup community and navigating technology trends at the ground level, you will identify opportunities for Netflix at the earliest stages and forge partnerships that contribute to both immediate success and future growth.

These creator tools can refer to a suite of software applications, platforms, and technologies specifically designed to enhance the creative process for filmmakers and production teams. These tools can range from internal solutions developed by Netflix to third-party software that is integrated into a production workflow. The primary purpose of these tools is to streamline various aspects of content creation, from pitch-to-play, making the creative process more collaborative and innovative.

You are a proactive, flexible leader with strong judgment and organizational skills, able to manage diverse responsibilities in a fast-moving environment. This is a demanding position that requires someone who can influence without direct authority, make quick decisions, provide strong communication, and be motivated to drive meaningful change.

Key Responsibilities:

• Seed New Business Development: Source and foster partnerships with emerging technology companies that contribute to Netflix’s current success and future growth. Identify and manage relationships with external vendors.

• Evaluate and Procure Technology: Develop evaluation methodologies and assess new technologies for scalability & potential to enhance content creation workflows. Collaborate with internal teams across Studio & Product to ensure seamless integration and alignment with production needs.

• Engage with the Startup Community: Actively participate in the startup ecosystem to stay ahead of technology trends and innovations, identifying early-stage opportunities that can benefit Netflix’s content production and storytelling.

• Lead Innovation Projects: Oversee the execution of pilot projects and proof-of-concept initiatives for new technologies, ensuring they align with Netflix’s creative goals and can be scaled effectively.

• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with teams across Content, Production, and Technology to implement and optimize new tools and technologies, maintaining a focus on creative quality and operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

• 10+ years of experience in business development, partnerships, or technology innovation within the media or entertainment sectors.

• Proven ability to build and manage partnerships with technology vendors, particularly in emerging areas like AI-driven tools and creative technologies. 

• Active involvement in the startup community, with the ability to navigate tech trends and identify early-stage opportunities.

• Strong understanding of content production workflows and the role of technology in enhancing creativity and efficiency.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and collaboration skills, with experience working closely with creative, production, and technical teams.

Our compensation structure consists solely of an annual salary; we do not have bonuses. You choose each year how much of your compensation you want in salary versus stock options. To determine your personal top of market compensation, we rely on market indicators and consider your specific job family, background, skills, and experience to determine your compensation in the market range. The range for this role is $210,000 - $525,000
