Job Description
Xsolla seeks a Senior Software Engineer for its Monetization team to solve complex backend and infrastructure problems across In-Game Store, Subscriptions, and Buy Button products. This hands-on role involves writing high-quality, maintainable code (primarily in PHP and/or Golang), improving CI/CD pipelines, collaborating with various stakeholders, and owning services end-to-end. Responsibilities include designing and implementing scalable systems, participating in code reviews, and contributing to shared knowledge. The ideal candidate possesses extensive backend development experience, strong problem-solving skills, a solid understanding of system design, and experience with CI/CD and version control. Prior experience in PHP or Golang is not required, but a willingness to learn and adapt quickly is essential.

ABOUT YOU
We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer who is curious, pragmatic, and deeply technical to join our Monetization team. You may come from any programming background, but what drives you is solving real-world engineering problems with clean, scalable, and maintainable solutions.
You’re not afraid to get your hands dirty, whether it’s writing backend services, improving CI/CD pipelines, debugging production systems, or rethinking architecture. You may not have worked in PHP or Golang before, but you’re confident in your ability to learn, adapt, and make an impact fast.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role, no people management, just pure problem-solving and shipping great code. If you're an experienced engineer who thrives in fast-moving environments and enjoys building solutions that power real products for millions of users, we want to hear from you.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Solve complex backend and infrastructure problems across our monetization products: In-Game Store, Subscriptions, and Buy Button
- Write high-quality, maintainable code, primarily in PHP and/or Golang (prior experience not required).
- Improve and maintain CI/CD pipelines to support fast, reliable deployments.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to design and implement scalable systems.
- Participate in code reviews and help uphold a strong engineering culture.
- Own services end-to-end, from architecture to deployment, observability, and performance.
- Contribute to shared knowledge through documentation, RFCs, and architecture discussions.
REQUIREMENTS
- Extensive professional experience in software engineering or backend development.
- Proven problem-solving skills and a track record of building scalable backend systems.
- Solid understanding of system design, data structures, and algorithms.
- Experience working with CI/CD pipelines and version control (e.g., Git, GitLab CI, Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Willingness to work in PHP and/or Golang, no prior experience required.
- Comfortable working in a highly collaborative, fast-paced environment.
