Scopely is looking for a Senior Technical Animator to join their Game Marketing and Rendering team in Barcelona. You will be responsible for animating characters, weapons, and objects based on game requirements and artistic direction. You will also be responsible for posing characters for marketing purposes, finding solutions to expand game rig limitations, collaborating with animators to resolve technical issues, and integrating animations into Unreal Engine. This role requires at least 5 years of experience in technical animation, high proficiency in Maya, and general knowledge of Unreal Engine. You should also have a strong sense of posing, knowledge of body mechanics and acting, strong problem-solving skills, and professional proficiency in English. Scopely is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Animator to join our Game Marketing and Rendering team in Barcelona.

We are in the early stages of developing an exciting and action-packed game.  As a Technical Animator, you will help bridge the gap between rigging, animation, and engine integration.

What You Will Do:

  • Animate characters, weapons and objects based on game requirements and artistic direction.
  • Pose characters in order to achieve appealing poses for marketing purposes.
  • Find solutions to expand game rig limitations for characters and props through rigging and deformers.
  • Collaborate with animators to resolve technical issues and maintain smooth production workflows.
  • Check character rigs and look for potential areas of improvement and work closely with a rigger.
  • Integrate animations into Unreal Engine and ensure their proper functionality.
  • Collaborate with a TD to improve the pipeline and workflow.

 What You Will Need:

  • At least 5 years of experience in technical animation.
  • High proficiency in Maya and general knowledge of Unreal Engine.
  • Strong sense of posing and appealing.
  • Knowledge of body mechanics and acting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and collaboration.
  • Professional proficiency in English at a technical level.
  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure environments and meet tight deadlines.

Nice to have:

  • Knowledge of Rigging is appreciated.
  • Unreal Engine proficiency.
  • Scripting knowledge (Python, MEL) for tool development.
  • Experienced in storytelling and layout design with a solid understanding of camera techniques.
