Tencent seeks a Sr. Workday Business System Analyst to lead the design, configuration, and support of its global Workday platform. This role encompasses HCM, Recruiting, Time Off, Talent & Performance, Prism, Integrations, and Workday Extend, focusing on supporting Tencent's rapid growth in overseas markets. The analyst will collaborate with IT and HR teams, ensuring a user-centric digital experience. Responsibilities include Workday module implementation and management, requirement gathering and translation into Workday solutions, providing technical leadership, conducting training, developing user guides, ensuring data integrity, troubleshooting issues, preparing estimates and test plans, analyzing and modifying software, maintaining documentation, staying updated on Workday features, facilitating review sessions, providing solution options, and participating in change management. The ideal candidate possesses 5+ years of Workday HCM experience, multiple Workday certifications, familiarity with Agile, deep HR process understanding, and excellent communication skills. Fluency in English and Mandarin is required.

What the Role Entails

We are seeking a Sr. Workday Business System Analyst to lead the design, configuration, and ongoing support of our global Workday platform. This role will focus on HCM, Recruiting, Time Off & Absences, Talent & Performance, Prism, Integrations, and Workday Extend, ensuring alignment with Tencent’s rapid employee and business growth in overseas markets (including North/South America, Europe, Middle East, and Asia). The candidate will collaborate closely with Overseas IT and China HQ HR teams to deliver a cohesive, user-centric digital experience.

  • Act as a domain expert in both HR SaaS (Workday) and HR business process. Lead the implementation, Configuration, and on-going management of Workday HCM, Recruiting, Absence Management, Talent, Performance, Prism, and Integrations
  • Collaborate with HR, Talent Acquisition, Benefits, OPD, IT and other Key stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into effective Workday solutions.
  • Provide Technical leadership and expertise in the multiple Workday modules, ensuring the best practices are followed and that the system supports the organization’s needs.
  • Conduct training sessions for HR teams, CoE, and Hiring managers on Workday HCM, Recruiting, Absence, Performance Module.
  • Develop user guides and maintain documentation for configurations, integrations, and processes.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance with global/local HR policies.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the Workday modules in a timely and efficient manner.  
  • Prepare detailed estimates and test plans based on Functional requirements
  • Analyze, design, document, and test software modifications to existing processes/configurations, reports, forms, extensions, and interfaces in the production environment
  • Develop and maintain documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures related to Workday, support integration with other systems and processes as they related to Workday.
  • Stay updated with the latest Workday features and functionalities, particularly those related to Recruiting, Core HCM, Absence, Performance management and implement improvements as necessary.
  • Facilitate review sessions with functional owners, subject matter experts and end-user representatives 
  •  Provide Solutions options for the business to consider, along with pros and cons for each option and recommendation 
  • Drive the design, configuration and deployment of new projects & system enhancements 
  • Participate in the change management and go live support processes.

Qualifications: 

  • 5+ Years Workday HCM development, configuration, implementation and support experience. 
  • Experience in at least in 5 HCM modules such as Core HCM, Absence management, Recruiting, Compensation, Talent management, Performance, Benefits, Analytics, Workday Reporting, Peakon, Prism, and Extend,
  • Workday certifications in ​HCM, Reporting, Business Process, Security, Absences, Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits, Talent, Performance, Integrations, or Extend.
  • Experience with ​Peakon/Employee Voice and ​Prism Analytics is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
  • Deep understanding of HR processes (recruiting, performance management, compliance) and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
  • Experience with the full lifecycle of both implementations and upgrades.
  • Experience in providing HCM SaaS ongoing Support. 
  • Work collaboratively in a small, cross-functional team. 
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills. 
  • Self-motivated to continually learn while maintaining a positive attitude. 
  • Ability to adapt quickly to change. 
  • Demonstrate a strong work ethic. 
  • Strong communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills required to interact with colleagues and internal customers. 
  • Ability to work effectively with others who are in remote locations and varying time zones.

  • Owns assign tasks and drives to a conclusion, keeps team informed of progress and challenges. 
  • Experience in integration with other systems (Payroll systems) or Workday Payroll experience. 
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English and Mandarin (written and spoken) to collaborate with China HQ and global teams.
  • Bachelor or above degree in ​Computer Science or related field from a top-tier university (985 project preferred).
