Job Description

As a Technical Program Manager II at Google Fi, you'll leverage your telecommunications and networking expertise to drive innovation and network quality improvements across international initiatives. You will collaborate with various teams to define technical requirements, manage project schedules and resources, and ensure successful product launches. This role involves managing the development lifecycle for handset qualifications, building strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and communicating project status to senior leadership. Responsibilities include identifying and mitigating risks, driving issues to closure, and contributing to the technical direction of Google Fi's mobile network programs. The role requires strong technical program management skills and experience in managing cross-functional projects.

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.

  • 2 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects.
  • Experience with SQL scripting or similar data management scripting experience.
  • Experience with Android, iOS App, or platform development.
  • Experience with modem or RF technologies.

As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You're equally at home explaining your team's analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.

Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.

Google Fi works to address issues that span all realms of software development: Android OS, Android/iOS App development, modem firmware, devices, eSIM, and more. As a Technical Program Manager, you will lead multi-disciplinary projects using technical program management knowledge, and will plan requirements with engineering teams, and lead projects through their life-cycle.

In this role, you will manage cross-functional projects of various sizes and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes, and driving the technical direction of programs.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $132,000-$189,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Responsibilities

  • Use telecommunications or networking knowledge to drive innovation, drive network quality, and manage international initiatives.
  • Work with partner teams to define technical requirements, scope, milestones/schedule, and resourcing in order to drive launches.
  • Drive development life-cycle processes for first-party and third-party handset qualifications on Google Fi.
  • Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Build consensus, drive issues to closure, help identify risks and mitigations, and communicate project status to senior leadership.
