NiCE is seeking a passionate and technically skilled Associate Cloud Operations Support Engineer to join their Cloud Applications Support Team. The role involves ensuring the smooth operation, performance, and reliability of business-critical cloud-hosted applications. Responsibilities include monitoring, incident management, providing technical support, troubleshooting complex issues, performing application maintenance and upgrades, and contributing to automation initiatives using scripting languages like Ansible, Python, or Perl. The engineer will also assist in setting up and securing application instances, participate in change management processes, and maintain a knowledge base. Collaboration with R&D, Professional Services, and other Operations teams is key, as is clear communication during critical incidents. The role requires flexibility for a 24x7 shift model.
Must have:
  • 1-1.5 years of relevant experience
  • Application Support (tier3/tier2 apps)
  • Problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • OS level knowledge (Windows or Linux/Unix)
  • Database skills (SQL, Oracle, Postgres, Casandra)
  • Application Server experience
  • Networking and Load Balancer understanding
  • Scripting language exposure
Good to have:
  • AWS Portal and services experience
  • Banking/Financial domain experience
  • SQL Database querying experience
  • Application Monitoring and Dashboards experience
  • ITIL environment experience

So, what’s the role all about? 

We are looking for a passionate and technically skilled Associate Cloud Operations Support Engineer to join our Cloud Applications Support Team in Vertical Markets. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation, performance, and reliability of business-critical cloud-hosted applications. The ideal candidate should have strong troubleshooting skills, a proactive mindset, and excellent communication abilities to support customers effectively.

 

How will you make an impact?  

  • Participate in “eyes on glass monitoring” and play a key part in alert response and Incident Management processes
  • Provide technical support for complex, cloud-hosted applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve high-severity, complex issues across multiple systems.
  • Perform routine application maintenance, patching, and upgrades.
  • Monitor daily data processing activities and troubleshoot operational failures.
  • Build and enhance proactive monitoring and alerting tools.
  • Contribute to automation initiatives using Ansible, Python, or Perl scripting.
  • Assist in setting up and securing new application instances and environments.
  • Participate in change management processes: creating deployment/rollback plans and executing patches or fixes.
  • Create and maintain a comprehensive knowledge base of technical solutions and resolutions.
  • Develop and maintain deployment scripts for various environments (UAT vs. PROD).
  • Tune application and web server configurations for performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Professional Services and other Operations teams to implement, maintain infrastructure and application.
  • Develop and maintain internal tools and utilities to improve support efficiency.
  • Drive clear and timely communication with stakeholders during critical incidents.
  • Be flexible to work in a 24x7 shift model, including off-hours and on-call duties.

 

Have you got what it takes?  

  • BS or MS Computer Science or related degree
  • 1-1.5 years of relevant experience
  • Excellent hands-on experience in managing Application Support (tier3/tier2 apps)
  • Strong problem solving, analytical and communication skills
  • Exposure in handling complex application performance issues
  • Good experience in a DevOps environment / Operations team / Infrastructure Operations team.
  • Excellent Troubleshooting skills
  • OS level knowledge (Windows or Linux/Unix)
  • Database skills (SQL, Oracle or Postgres / Casandra)
  • Application Server (Skills on any of Middleware technologies e.g. – Tomcat, WebLogic, WebSphere)
  • Good understanding on Networking, Load balancers
  • Exposure to scripting language (Ansible, Perl, Python, Ruby, Shell script, PowerShell etc.)
  • Experience in working with tools like OpsGenie, Nagios, Rundeck

 

You will have an advantage if you also have: 

  • Experience with AWS Portal and familiarity with AWS services.
  • Experience in Banking / Financial domain.
  • Experience with SQL Database querying. 
  • Experience of Scripting. (Python, Perl, Power Shell)
  • Experience of configuring Application Monitoring and Dashboards. (e.g. Grafana, Kibana)
  • Experience working in an ITIL environment (e.g. Incident Management, Change Management)
