The Business Development Specialist at Brightline Interactive plays a key role in identifying, engaging, and cultivating relationships with potential customers in the public sector. This individual will support the business development team by conducting market research, generating leads, managing outreach efforts, and facilitating communication with government agencies and organizations.
The ideal candidate is proactive, detail-oriented, and has a strong understanding of the public sector landscape. They will work closely with internal teams to align business development efforts with company objectives and ensure strategic growth within government markets.
Key Responsibilities
- Market Research & Lead Generation – Identify and analyze new business opportunities within the federal, state, and local government sectors.
- Customer Outreach & Engagement – Initiate and maintain communication with prospective government clients, ensuring timely follow-ups and relationship-building.
- Proposal & RFI Support – Assist in the preparation of Requests for Information (RFIs), Requests for Proposals (RFPs), and other government procurement documentation.
- CRM & Data Management – Maintain and update the CRM system with relevant customer and opportunity data.
- Industry Networking – Represent Brightline Interactive at government and defense industry events, conferences, and meetings to expand brand visibility and establish key relationships.
- Collaboration with Internal Teams – Work with technical, marketing, and leadership teams to develop targeted outreach strategies and business proposals.
- Competitive Analysis – Monitor and report on industry trends, competitor activity, and emerging technologies relevant to Brightline’s government sector initiatives.
- Process Improvement – Continuously refine business development workflows to improve efficiency and effectiveness in public sector engagement.
Qualifications & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Public Administration, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in business development, sales, or government contracting (public sector experience preferred).
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Familiarity with government procurement processes and contracting vehicles.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to conduct research and analyze data to identify potential business opportunities.
- Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage multiple priorities effectively.
