Designer - Character and Weapon

We're on the lookout for a designer with a passion for creating engaging and realistic character and weapon designs. This role is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to a cohesive player experience by balancing weapon handling, tweaking design values, and perfecting the feel of in-game characters. Valid design experience, combined with collaboration skills, will be essential as this role requires working closely with multiple departments to ensure the smooth integration of design ideas.

Responsibilities

  • Character and Weapon Design: Create and adjust character profiles, weapon stats and values, to achieve a realistic and immersive experience.
  • Collaborative Design Process: Work closely with teams across departments—particularly programming, animation and technical design—to ensure that designs reflect a unified vision.
  • Testing and Refinement: Participate in regular play sessions to assess and refine character and weapon mechanics.
  • Documentation: Maintain up-to-date documentation to reflect the current status of mechanics and assets for easy team reference.
  • (Optional) Scripted Implementation: Utilize object-oriented scripting languages (e.g. C-like languages) to implement and refine technical design aspects.

Requirements

  • Professional Experience: 3+ years of relevant industry experience, particularly in character and weapon design.
  • Experience in Immersive Design: Proven track record of designing features that enhance player immersion, with an eye for detail in character and weapon mechanics.
  • Collaborative & Proactive: Able to communicate effectively across departments and take the initiative to enhance gameplay experiences.
  • Language Skills: Good spoken and written English.

Nice to Have

  • Scripting Skills: Scripting capabilities welcomed.
  • Game Engine Experience: Experience with the Enfusion engine or modding in the Arma series is highly advantageous.
