Job Summary:

This Development Assistant role is an administrative support position covering phones, scheduling, expenses and other admin and project duties for the SVP and VP, Production of Searchlight Pictures.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Manage calendar for executives, including scheduling and confirming meetings both internally and externally
  • Manage phones, roll calls and take notes, and update phone sheet
  • Maintain a log of incoming script submissions and disseminate this information with the appropriate internal departments
  • Coordinate domestic and international travel and logistics for both executives and talent
  • Prepare and submit expense reports
  • Assist with general office tasks, including ordering and maintaining office supplies and food stocks for department
  • Develop and maintain a thorough familiarity with all projects occurring within the company
  • Liaise closely with the Co-Head’s assistants, as well as with executives, talent, and other assistants, both internally and externally
  • Support departmental projects as needed, including, but not limited to, maintaining organizational documents, grids and databases, and preparing agendas and memos for high-level leadership meetings

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Ability to work independently and proactively to solve problems
  • Strong people skills, including the ability to work effectively and collaboratively as part of a team
  • Ability to take initiative and work with limited direction
  • Positive attitude and the ability to be proactive, resourceful, and flexible 
  • Detail-oriented with superior organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Enthusiasm for film, particularly specialty/arthouse films
  • Strong computer literacy and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, multitask, meet deadlines, and change course of action quickly
  • Ability to work with confidential information
  • Experience at a Studio, Production Company, Literary or Talent Agency preferred


The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $58,700 to $78,600 per year based on a 40-hour work week. The amount of hours scheduled per week may vary based on business needs. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
