Apexon is seeking an experienced Lead PCB Engineer to join their team in Houston, TX. The role involves leading the design and development of complex, high-density, multi-layer PCB layouts, collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams. Responsibilities include managing PCB projects from concept to production, utilizing advanced design tools like Altium Designer and Cadence OrCAD, conducting design rule checks, performing signal integrity and thermal analysis, and generating manufacturing documentation. The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering and 5-10 years of PCB design experience, with a strong understanding of IPC standards and EMI/EMC design principles.
Must have:

  • Experience with PCB design tools (Altium, OrCAD, PADS).
  • Understanding of IPC standards, EMI/EMC.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Good to have:
  • Experience in the energy or industrial electronics sector.
  • Familiarity with RoHS, REACH regulations.
  • Exposure to thermal and signal integrity simulations.

Role Description:

We are currently seeking an experienced Lead PCB Engineer to join our team onsite in Houston, TX. The ideal candidate will lead the design and development of complex, high-density, multi-layer PCB layouts, working closely with cross-functional engineering teams. This is an excellent opportunity to work on cutting-edge electronics and contribute to the development of innovative energy solutions.

 

You’ll be responsible for (Responsibilities): 

  • Lead high-density PCB design projects from concept through production.
  • Utilize advanced PCB design tools (Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD, PADS) for schematic and layout work.
  • Conduct design rule checks (DRC) and ensure manufacturability.
  • Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, and systems engineers to meet design requirements.
  • Perform signal integrity, thermal, and DFM analysis.
  • Generate manufacturing documentation including Gerber files, BOMs, and assembly drawings.
  • Mentor and support junior PCB designers.
  • Keep up-to-date with industry best practices and technologies.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in PCB design (preferably in high-speed, high-temp environments).
  • Hands-on experience with multiple PCB design tools (Altium, OrCAD, PADS, etc.).
  • Deep understanding of IPC standards, EMI/EMC design, and manufacturing processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work in a cross-functional team environment.
Nice to Have:
    • Experience in the energy or industrial electronics sector.
    • Familiarity with regulatory standards like RoHS, REACH.
    • Exposure to thermal and signal integrity simulations.

 

You’ll have (Qualification & Experience):

  •  Bachelor's Degree in related field is required.
