Job Description

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will be involved in migrating to a containerized Red Hat OpenShift (OCP) environment. Your responsibilities include optimizing container orchestration architecture for functionality, security, performance, redundancy, and recoverability, ensuring alignment with industry standards and regulatory compliance. You will lead DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline development and infrastructure automation, manage container platforms and Kubernetes-based orchestration, administer Linux systems, design and maintain Kubernetes clusters, drive OpenShift-specific operations, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and ensure system observability using tools like Prometheus and Grafana.
Must have:
  • Strong proficiency in Linux administration.
  • Expertise in Docker/OCI containers.
  • Deep knowledge of Kubernetes fundamentals.
  • Proven experience with OpenShift administration.
  • Practical experience with networking and persistent storage.
  • Advanced scripting skills in Bash, Python, Groovy, and Ansible.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
Good to have:
  • Experience with OpenShift-specific CI/CD tools.
  • Hands-on with Migration Toolkit for Containers (MTC) and Ansible.
  • Experience in Java microservices deployment on OpenShift.

Job Description

We are seeking qualified professionals for a project focused on the migration to a containerised Red Hat OpenShift (OCP) environment. The engagement involves reviewing and optimising container orchestration architecture, including design for functionality, security, performance, redundancy, and recoverability, all aligned with industry standards and regulatory compliance. The project is within the financial services industry and offers an opportunity to work on core financial infrastructure systems.

Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with regulated entities such as banks or similar organizations, particularly those operating high-availability, mission-critical environments that process sensitive data.

Responsibilities 

  • Lead DevOps practices including CI/CD pipeline development and infrastructure automation.
  • Manage container platforms (Docker/OCI) and Kubernetes-based orchestration (OpenShift).
  • Administer Linux systems, focusing on networking, storage, and system operations.
  • Design, deploy, and maintain scalable Kubernetes clusters and YAML-defined resources.
  • Drive OpenShift-specific operations including RBAC, oc CLI usage, and integrated registry management.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to automate workflows and enable application delivery.
  • Ensure observability and system health using tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and Jaeger.
  • Applies effective communication skills with team and client interaction 

Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency in Linux administration (preferably RHEL).
  • Expertise in Docker/OCI containers: image management, troubleshooting, registries.
  • Deep knowledge of Kubernetes fundamentals: deployments, services, config maps, secrets, persistent volumes, and scaling.
  • Proven experience with OpenShift administration, including cluster operations, project routing, and security.
  • Practical experience with networking and persistent storage in clustered environments.
  • Advanced scripting skills in Bash, Python, Groovy, and Ansible.
  • Exposure to CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/Ansible).
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability platforms.

Nice to have: 

  • Experience with OpenShift-specific CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Tekton, ArgoCD.
  • Hands-on with Migration Toolkit for Containers (MTC) and automation hooks using Ansible.
  • Experience in Java microservices deployment on OpenShift.
