Job Description

Epic Games is seeking a Level Designer to collaborate on a new games and entertainment universe with Disney. Responsibilities include creating visually appealing and fun locations within the Disney universe (buildings, landmarks, POIs), focusing on collaborative and compelling gameplay spaces, using content for storytelling, and bringing the game world to life. This role requires working effectively in a cross-disciplinary team, providing input and feedback, and driving the vision of in-game locations from planning to completion. The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of experience shipping multiple titles, proficiency in a level editor (UE5 preferred), and experience with prop placement, lighting, and visual scripting.
Must have:
  • 4+ years experience shipping multiple titles as a level designer
  • Experience using a level editor (UE5 or similar)
  • Proficiency in prop placement, lighting, mood/atmosphere, and design markup
  • Effective communication and collaboration with artists, programmers, and production
  • Problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented mindset
  • Visual scripting experience (Blueprints, for example)

Epic Games is seeking a Level Designer to join our dynamic team and contribute to various aspects of game design for our collaboration with Disney. In this role, you'll utilize your experience, knowledge of design tools, and sense of scale to push the visual quality of the game and delight players with fresh experiences. Level Designers at Epic are a part of a cross-discipline content team working to develop great looking levels.

In this role, you will

  • Create buildings, natural landmarks, and POIs within the Disney universe to design visually appealing and fun locations that follow gameplay rules
  • Focus on building collaborative and compelling gameplay spaces
  • Use content to tell stories and push ambient storytelling in the world
  • Use your experience and tools to make the world come alive
  • Help drive the vision of in-game locations from planning all the way to ship
  • Work effectively in a collaborative environment, providing input, and regular feedback

What we're looking for

  • Minimum 4+ years of experience shipping multiple titles as a level designer
  • Experience using a level editor (UE5, or similar)
  • Direct involvement with prop placement, lighting, mood/atmosphere, and design markup
  • Experience working closely and communicating with artists, programmers and production
  • Demonstrated ability to improvise and creatively solve problems
  • Ability to react quickly to changing project needs and directions, along with strong problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented mindset
  • Visual scripting experience (Blueprints, for example)
  • Experience with procedural level generation
