Job Description

Apexon is seeking a Network Engineer Level IV to support healthcare IT solutions for government clients. The role involves leading WLAN and NAC deployments across approximately 1950 remote field sites. Responsibilities include conducting site surveys, designing network upgrades, managing installations, supporting VPN, LAN/WAN/WLAN, and NAC systems. The engineer will handle field logistics, equipment preparation, contractor coordination, and scheduling. This position requires 3rd-level troubleshooting and occasional after-hours support, along with developing and maintaining network documentation. The role focuses on guiding network performance improvements and recommending new solutions.
Must have:
  • Minimum 5 years in enterprise network environments (3,000+ nodes)
  • CCIE-level certification (Routing & Switching, Wireless, Security, or Data Center)
  • 3 years of AWS network connectivity experience
  • Eligibility for Public Trust clearance
  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field
Good to have:
  • 5+ years in WAN (MPLS, DMVPN, Frame Relay) and LAN (Ethernet, wireless) tech
  • 5 years with Cisco ISE and NAC
  • Experience managing detailed project documentation and implementation plans
  • Certifications like CISSP, PCNSE, ITIL

Role Description: 

The position is with a client supporting healthcare IT solutions for federal, state, and local government clients. This role requires strong leadership, analytical, and networking expertise—particularly with enterprise-scale network upgrades and deployments.

 

You’ll be responsible for (Responsibilities): 

Education:
  • Bachelor's + 7 years
  • Associate's + 8 years
  • Master's + 5 years
Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead WLAN and NAC deployments at ~1950 remote field sites.
  • Conduct site surveys, design network upgrades, and manage onsite installations.
  • Manage and support VPN, LAN/WAN/WLAN, NAC systems.
  • Handle field logistics: equipment prep, contractor coordination, schedule management.
  • Provide 3rd-level troubleshooting and occasional after-hours support.
  • Develop and maintain documentation (diagrams, procedures, standards).
  • Guide network performance improvements and recommend new solutions.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Degree + requisite experience (see above).
  • Minimum 5 years in enterprise network environments (3,000+ nodes).
  • CCIE-level certification (Routing & Switching, Wireless, Security, or Data Center).
  • 3 years of AWS network connectivity experience.
  • Eligibility for Public Trust clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
