Network Infrastructure Engineer
OVERVIEW »
Location: Basingstoke, UK (Remote-friendly with occasional travel)
Contract: Full-Time
Department: TechOps
Salary Range: £35,000–£45,000 (depending on experience)
Hey I'm Rich, Tech Ops Director, and I'm looking for a Network Infrastructure Engineer with hands-on experience in real-time AV networking, ideally gained in live sports, broadcast, or high-performance event environments. This is a field-ready, hands-on role for someone who’s just as comfortable designing IP plans and advising on network best practices as they are troubleshooting multicast flow issues in a server room or onsite at a global event.
You’ll work closely with our Senior Network Engineer to design, deploy, and support low-latency, high-bandwidth AV-over-IP systems, ensuring stability, visibility, and scalability across our networked media workflows. You’ll also play a key role in supporting on-prem to AWS delivery models, advising engineering teams on transport-layer design issues, and ensuring our network infrastructure is aligned with evolving software requirements.
This is a high-impact, cross-functional role that connects fieldwork, system engineering, and software delivery. You’ll help bridge the gap between network infrastructure and software development by providing actionable insights into how real-time networks behave in the field, and how we can build better tools and systems to support them.

Reporting to: TechOps Director
Deploy and support time-synchronised AV-over-IP systems (e.g., Dante, AES67, PTP), ensuring accuracy and low-latency performance
Troubleshoot complex issues across switching, routing, firewalling, transport layers, and AV-specific protocols in both on-prem and hybrid deployments (e.g. AWS)
Advise on network best practices, including broadcast VLAN design, multicast routing, PTP timing domains, and transport-layer resilience
Collaborate with software teams to identify and resolve transport-layer issues in evolving products and features
Evaluate and recommend networking hardware suitable for real-time video and data workflows
Create and maintain technical documentation: IP addressing plans, rack layouts, provisioning templates, and site handovers
Act as a technical lead onsite, resolving issues under pressure during deployments or incident response
Coordinate with WAN/ISP partners to provision uplinks and monitor performance
Share knowledge internally through training, playbooks, and documentation
