As a Principal Product Manager at ByteDance, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of e-commerce by driving the strategy, roadmap, and product development for merchandising on their platforms. You'll be responsible for building a global product catalog, creating pricing solutions, defining product strategy, leading stakeholder discussions, managing product lifecycles, and collaborating with cross-functional teams across the globe. This role demands a strong understanding of data analysis, A/B experimentation, and agile methodologies.
Must have:
  • Master's degree in related field and 5 years of experience OR Bachelor's degree and 7 years of experience
  • 4 years of experience in project management, agile techniques, product development, API building, process streamlining, data analysis, and A/B experimentation
  • 1 year of experience in designing and launching products for retailers with wholesale supplier relationships

Responsibilities Create the strategy, roadmap, and products for all of the merchandising needs on our e-commerce platform/products by building the world-wide product catalog based on industry standards. Plan end-to-end pricing products, including but not limited to price comparison, price score modelling and price competitiveness improvement, and support multiproduct domains to improve customer experience, and empower our business growth. Define the product strategy by incorporating customer insights, competition analysis, and data analysis, and conduct product feature design and identify and execute high priority (i.e. high impact) projects to improve user experience and business performance. Lead stakeholder discussions to define project scope, collect technical and functional business requirements, and write functional and technical specifications to drive design and development discussions. Manage the planning, design and development of methodologies, tools and systems for data collection and data analysis ensuring metrics and reports are targeted towards continuous product development, innovation, improvement, and optimization. Manage product lifecycles by continually evaluating product performance and key customer insights, ensuring new product needs are identified far enough in advance. Prepare and deliver detailed and effective project status information to broad and diverse groups of stakeholders, ensuring alignment and attention to timeline, risk, obstacles, needs, restrictions, and budget. Work with multi-function teams from international backgrounds on a daily basis.
Qualifications
Qualifications Must have a Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, and 5 years of related work experience; OR a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (any), Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field, and 7 years of related work experience, out of which 5 years must be post-bachelor's, progressive related work experience. Of the required experience, we must have 4 years of experience in each of the following: Project management, including collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineers, data analysts, and quality assurance analysts) to design, develop, and drive implementation of data driven business strategies; Leading scrum teams using agile techniques for project and timeline management; Designing and managing the execution of product development and deployment roadmaps; Building API (Application Programming Interface) solution to automate tasks and solve user pain points; Building and streamlining processes and workflows using Jira, and tracking project status and milestones and coordinating cross-functional alignment to ensure timely execution of deliverables; Building dashboards and reports to gather and process large quantities of data to support the monitoring and evaluation of internet product performance using SQL, Python, and R; and Applying A/B experimentation and data visualization to develop strategy and leverage quantitative and qualitative insights to drive business growth. Of the required experience, must have 1 year of experience in designing and launching products for retailers that have a first-party relationship with wholesale suppliers. 【For Pay Transparency】Compensation Description (annually)

The base salary range for this position in the selected city is $210000 - $414000 annually.

Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.

We cover 100% premium coverage for employee medical insurance, approximately 75% premium coverage for dependents and offer a Health Savings Account(HSA) with a company match. In addition to Flexible Spending Account(FSA) Options like Health Care, Limited Purpose and Dependent Care.

Our time off and leave plans are: 10 paid holidays per year plus 17 days of Paid Personal Time Off (PPTO) (prorated upon hire and increased by tenure) and 10 paid sick days per year as well as 12 weeks of paid Parental leave and 8 weeks of paid Supplemental Disability.
