Job Description

Hong Kong Disneyland seeks a Senior Artist (Show, Paint & Production) to oversee and execute painting and maintenance of attraction vehicles, show figures, and props. Responsibilities include coordinating with various teams, managing work orders, monitoring inventory, leading a team of artists and laborers, providing training, ensuring Disney show standards are met, and fostering a safe and positive work environment. The ideal candidate will possess a Higher Diploma/University Degree in a relevant field (Visual Arts, Fine Arts, etc.) and at least 3 years of experience in the art field or project coordination. Proficiency in various artistic disciplines (painting, industrial coatings, props making, etc.) is crucial. Weekend or overnight shifts may be required.
Must have:
  • Maintain attraction vehicles, show figures, props
  • Coordinate with different teams
  • Manage work orders and inventory
  • Lead & train a team of artists
  • Ensure Disney show standards
  • Higher Diploma/Degree in relevant field
  • 3+ years of experience in art or project coordination
Good to have:
  • Good communication (English & Chinese)
  • Proficient in Word & Excel
  • Experience with various artistic disciplines (e.g., auto body work, themed painting, 3D printing)

Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and implement maintenance work of attraction vehicles, show, figures and props

  • Interact and coordinate with different teams to arrange and maneuver paint related tasks

  • Plan and execute a variety of work orders and ensuring the tasks are accomplished in a timely manner

  • Monitor the daily operation and inventory level of workshop

  • Lead a team of in-house artists as well as supervise work performed by term labors, ensuring the team operates in a safe, happy, and harmonic work environment

  • Provide care & support, as well as on-job training to the team, in terms of various painting skills and application of different types of coatings

  • Ensuring our work delivered are conforming to Disney show standards

Basic Qualifications:

  • Higher Diploma/ University Degree holder in Visual art/ Fine art/ Theatre & Entertainment Arts, or relevant disciplines

  • 3+ years’ work experience in art field or project coordination

  • Flexible work schedule and mindset, weekend or overnight shift may be required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Good interpersonal, organizational and team management skills

  • Good communication skills in both written and spoken English and Chinese

  • Proficient in Word & Excel

  • Solid experience on technical know-how and supervision in various artistic disciplines (e.g. general painting, auto body work, application of industrial coatings, themed painting, props making, decorating, 3D printing etc.)

Required Education

  • Vocational education

Preferred Education

  • Higher Diploma or above: in Visual Art/ Graphic Design/ Fine Art/ Theatre & Entertainment Arts or equivalent
