About Global Customer Success and Solution Architecture As a Senior Solution Architect within Cognite's Global Customer Success Organization (GCS), you'll be a key player in our architecture profession. With offices in Austin, Houston, Oslo, Stavanger, Tokyo, and soon Bengaluru, our diverse GCS team includes Project Managers, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and Solution Architects specializing in Oil and Gas, Power, and Manufacturing. This role is part of the EMEA Delivery organization, supporting customer and partner projects in MENA and SEA regions.
In this customer-facing role, you'll collaborate directly with key customers, partners, field sales, delivery teams, and product development. Leveraging your seniority and technical expertise, you'll lead international industrial customers towards increased productivity, profitability, reduced environmental impact, and lower costs. 
In this role, you will work directly with customers to accelerate their business outcomes by recommending best-practice cloud architectures aligned with their long-term needs. You will drive technical solution discussions, diving deep into complex problems to craft scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures. 
Our clients are large international process and energy industries facing challenges in asset performance, maintenance, production efficiency, and sustainability. Together with the team, you'll define solutions and guide each integration to successful completion.

Role and Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end architecture and solution design.
• Provide strategic and technical expertise to support customer projects.
• Define enterprise and solution architecture, including integration, data models, and data pipelines.
• Communicate complex technical solutions using architecture modeling tools.
• Ensure operational support for delivered solutions.
• Build relationships with key stakeholders and drive product adoption.
• Train internal teams and partners in your specialization.
• Collaborate with Sales, Engineering, and Product Management teams to align customer needs with product development.
• Independently manage integration, data modeling, and related activities using Cognite tools (connectors, SQL, Python/Java, Rest APIs).
• Translate customer needs into product priorities.

The background you need to succeed in this role:

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience in a customer facing role. 
• 8+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience
• Experience in developing technology solutions and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformation toward cloud computing.
• Prior experience in communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders, customers and internal facing teams.
• We expect all our solutions architects to be hands-on in python as well as a good hands-on expertise with software development best practices.
• Experience with data modelling 
• Experience working with Data, AI, and Cloud technologies from a dev/ops perspective
• Experience within the oil and gas domain is a plus
