Job Description

This role involves Level 2 End User and Windows system support, focusing on Desktop Virtualization. Responsibilities include maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting issues related to VMware VDI and Windows Desktops, as well as supporting VMware Windows Server Infrastructure. The candidate will provide 1st and 2nd level End User Computing (EUC) support, manage application installations, and support for all Regional employees. Participation in the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process for VMware & Windows problems is also required. Experience in a global financial organization is required.
Must have:
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with Windows Server 2012-2019 operating systems
  • 5 to 10 years of experience supporting Windows Desktop/Server Operating Systems
  • 3 to 5 years of experience implementing and maintaining Windows Desktop / VDI Image
  • 3 to 5 years of experience supporting VMware Horizon View App Volumes in a VDI environment
  • 5 to 10 years of experience working with Dell Desktop hardware
  • 3 to 5 years of working knowledge of HP server hardware
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with Office 365 user management
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, Subnetting, Routing and SMTP concepts.
Good to have:
  • Working knowledge of Windows and 3rd party Patch Management technologies
  • Working knowledge of large-scale MDM solutions
  • Experience with PowerShell is a plus.
  • Working experience with Active Directory / DHCP / DNS / Group Policy

Job Description:

This role encompasses Level 2 End User and Windows system support and requires knowledge of Desktop Virtualization. You will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting issues related to the VMware VDI system and Windows Desktops. You will also work with senior team members to support VMware Windows Server Infrastructure. You will provide 1st and 2nd level End User Computing (EUC) support, application installations and support for all Regional employees. You will participate in the Root Cause Analysis (RCA) process for all VMware & Windows problems.

Key Technical Skills & Competencies (Must Have)

  • 3 to 5 years of knowledge of Windows Server 2012 – 2019 operating systems
  • 5 to 10 years of experience supporting Windows Desktop/Server Operating Systems
  • 3 to 5 years of experience implementing and maintaining Windows Desktop / VDI Image
  • 3 to 5 years of experience supporting VMware Horizon View App Volumes in a VDI environment and End User support.
  • 5 to 10 years of experience working with Dell Desktop line of hardware
  • 3 to 5 years of working knowledge of HP server hardware
  • 3 to 5 years of experience with Office 365 user management
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, Subnetting, Routing and SMTP concepts.
  • Microsoft Certifications (MCITP, MCSE, MOUS, and VCP) are a strong plus; some will be required within a year of joining IBKR.

Non-Technical Skills

  • Strong Client service and professional client-facing skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and proven strong analytical / troubleshooting and multi-tasking skills.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills and ability to meet project deadlines
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a global Windows team
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a global financial organization (e.g., Investment Management, Banking, Financial Technology Services).

Key Technical Skills & Competencies (Nice to Have)

  • Working knowledge of Windows and 3rd party Patch Management technologies (Shavlik, Manage Engine, etc.)
  • Working knowledge large-scale MDM solutions (MS Intune, Mobile Iron, etc.) is a plus
  • Experience with PowerShell is a plus.
  • Working experience with Active Directory / DHCP / DNS / Group Policy in a distributed environment.
