Job Description

The Solution Sales Manager (SSM) leads a team of Specialist Professionals (SSPs) to drive revenue and market share by leveraging Microsoft's cloud offerings. This leadership role is responsible for sustainable new business growth, thought leadership, and customer acceleration to the cloud. The SSM must be a skilled sales coach and leader, adept at sales leadership practices, and capable of flawlessly executing solution sales across various workloads and areas. Responsibilities include disciplined business management, adaptable accountability, meeting sales targets, building purposeful sales plans, developing high-performing teams, coaching with a 'challenger mentality', transforming markets with innovative solutions, and building strong business networks. The role requires executive-level communication skills and the ability to mentor others.

Overview

The Solution Sales Manager (SSM) is a leader within our enterprise sales organization. The Azure Infrastructure SSM leads, develops and manages a team of high performing Specialist Professionals (SSP) to drive solution opportunity revenue and market share by leveraging our Cloud offerings to meet their customers solution needs.

The Azure Infrastructure Solutions Sales Manager is a solution sales leadership role that is responsible for delivering sustainable new business growth across segments; providing thought-leadership; and driving customer acceleration to cloud across the enterprise sales teams. The Solution Sales Manager is a great sales coach and leader, is savvy in sales-leadership practice and contributes with vision and flawless execution of solution sales across workloads and solution areas.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

 

  • 7+ years technology-related sales or account management experience

o OR Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or related field AND 6+ years technology-related sales or account management experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • 9+ years technology-related sales or account management experience

o OR Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, or related field AND 8+ years technology-related sales or account management experience

o OR Master's Degree in Business Administration (i.e., MBA), Information Technology, or related field AND 5+ years technology-related sales or account management experience.

  • 6+ years solution or services sales experience.
  • 3+ years people management experience.
  • Possess both business acumen expertise and technology knowledge to connect how customer business issues impact their IT environments.
  • Successful management of large-scale, complex deal cycles 
  • Coaching direct reports in pipeline management, opportunity management, and account planning
  • Executive level communication skills (both written and verbal), and the ability to mentor others.

Solution Area Specialists M5 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $130,000 - $217,600 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $168,600 - $237,500 per year.

    • Purposeful Planner: Builds a purposeful sales plan with a bold ambition to identify and capitalize on transformational shifts in the market.
    • People Leader: Develops a high-performing team by hiring diverse talent, prioritizing development, leading by example and preparing people for more senior positions in other parts of the organization.
    • Sales Challenger: Coaches seller’s with a “challenger mentality” by prompting seller’s to engage early and lead with new insights on how to grow the customers’ business.
    • Market Maker: Transforms markets with solutions that change the game by co-selling with partners that make deals bigger and faster, and change the risk profile.
    • Social Seller: Builds a strong and active business network that stretches and influences far beyond themselves.
