Summary

The Sr. Tax Accountant at Mattel will be responsible for calculating income provision and preparing working papers for local, corporate, and audit reporting. Responsibilities include analyzing monthly expenses for deductibility, collaborating with tax advisors on tax reforms and IFRS, interacting with external auditors and DIAN, preparing VAT, ICA, RETEICA, RETEFUENTE, and RENTA returns, and providing information to tax service providers. The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of tax experience (Income Tax), intermediate English, excellent communication skills, strong analytical abilities, and a tax background, ideally with experience at a Big Four firm.
Must have:
  • Income tax calculation and reporting
  • Expense analysis and deductibility determination
  • Collaboration with tax advisors and auditors
  • Preparation of tax returns (VAT, ICA, etc.)
  • Strong analytical and communication skills
  • 3-4 years of tax experience
Good to have:
  • Big Four experience
  • IFRS knowledge

Job Description

What Your Impact Will Be

  • Calculation of the income provision and preparation of the working paper for local, corporate and audit reporting purposes.

  • Analyze monthly expenses and define whether they are deductible or non-deductible. Work together with the tax advisor to clarify concepts, and impacts of tax reforms and IFRS.

  • Share information to our external auditors and respond to DIAN requirements.

  • Share requested supports, coordinate with other areas the deliverables of the auditors' requests.

  • Ability to justify tax calculations and/or provision calculations. Prepare monthly and annual VAT, ICA, RETEICA, RETEFUENTE and RENTA returns. 

  • Share with the auditors for the signature of the Statutory Auditor and submit to the DIAN.

  • Share in a clear, complete and accurate way the information to our tax service providers regarding income tax returns, tax reconciliation, transfer pricing, exogenous information and exchange reports.

     

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • 3-4 years of experience on taxes (Income Tax)
  • Intermediate English (written and spoken)
  • Microsoft Excel 
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Focused on problem solving
  • Analytical thinking/ Tax background, at least two years experience in Big Four as a Consultant or Senior Tax Accountant.
