Job Details
Balbix is looking for a Technical Writer to be part of the Product Management team, supporting our efforts to create engaging and compelling content, including new-feature documentation, content updates, release notes, internal reference and technical documentation, help deliverables, and other customer-facing documentation.
You will:
- Research, outline, write, and edit new, and existing content that meets quality standards with excellent attention to detail. Content should be clear, concise, correct, and without spelling or grammatical mistakes
- Participate in audits of existing documentation to ensure optimal content structure, accuracy of content, and adherence to style guidelines
- Work with product management, sales/marketing, customer success, engineering teams, and subject matter experts to get an in-depth understanding of the product and produce documentation as required
- Work with the Product Management team to improve content as we enhance the customer experience through new feature releases and improvements—including release notes creation and supporting docs for all new features and improvements
- Implement feedback from internal stakeholders and customers in a timely manner
- Ensure delivery of quick-start guides, deployment and administration guides, system requirements, installation guides, user guides, reference guides, context-sensitive help/in-app guidance, and other types of documentation
- Publish and maintain documentation on ZenDesk
- Project manage tasks and needs for assigned areas, including tracking and updating tasks through JIRA, Confluence and similar tools
You are:
- Skilled at writing about complex technical subjects to a variety of audiences
- Proficient in written and verbal communication
- Fluent in written US English
- Able to be self-directed and effective working independently, yet equally comfortable contributing in a global team environment
- Highly detailed and possess strong organizational skills
- Able to prioritize and manage multiple stakeholder relationships and needs in a fast-paced environment
- Technically adept and able to quickly learn new concepts and tools and technologies and an ability to analyze and solve problems
-A highly passionate team player with a strong sense of urgency, a willingness to roll up your sleeves, and an ability to deal with ambiguity in a fast-paced environment
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Communications, Computer Science, Engineering, or related fields
- 4+ years of experience in Technical Writing or a related field
- Experience with software development/SaaS security (2+ years preferred) or educational equivalent
- Excellent grammar and proofreading skills
- Ability to organize and simplify large amounts of data and information and multi-tiered processes
- Ability to coordinate multiple ongoing projects and documentation
- Ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and make them easily understandable in text and through images/media
- Ability to conceptualize and execute projects, with a strong bias for action and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Demonstrated ability to quickly learn new software and technical skills with little to no guidance
- Experience with Confluence/JIRA, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace
- Experience with ZenDesk
- Preferred skills (if you have one of the following skills, this will be a significant bonus)
- Working knowledge of DITA/Framemaker
- Experience in HTML/XML
