Job Description

The Compensation Partner at Tesla will be a key member of the EMEA and global compensation and HR teams, responsible for implementing and administering major compensation programs. This role requires partnering with leaders and HR to ensure program success, providing support to staffing teams on pay alignment, acting as a business partner in creating and reviewing compensation programs, diagnosing gaps and improving processes, and communicating compensation philosophies to all levels. The ideal candidate will have prior compensation experience, preferably in a high-growth company, with a strong understanding of broad-based compensation programs (base/bonus/equity), benchmarking, and job evaluation. Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical and communication abilities are essential. The position is based preferably in Berlin or Amsterdam, but other European locations are considered.

What to Expect

The Compensation Partner will play a key part in implementing and administering Tesla's major compensation programs and providing excellent client facing compensation support. The Compensation Partner will be a key member of Tesla's EMEA and global compensation and HR teams, supporting the success of the function and striving for highest quality. This individual must have the ability to juggle multiple tasks, handle sensitive information, advise business leaders, manage details, and deliver results. The location for the role is preferably in Berlin or Amsterdam but also flexible with other European countries. 

What You’ll Do
  • Partner with leaders and HR Partners to drive and ensure the success of Tesla's compensation programs
  • Provide ongoing support for staffing teams to appropriately align pay with our competitive practice and philosophy
  • Act as a business partner, problem solver, and play a governance role in the creation, negotiation, and review of compensation programs and business rules
  • Diagnose gaps between current and desired state. Perform ad hoc analysis and planning to continuously improve our compensation programs and processes
  • Use strong communication & analytical skills to drive understanding of compensation philosophies, practices and administration among leaders and managers and assist in cascading to all levels of the organization


What You’ll Bring
  • Previous compensation experience, preferably at a high-growth company working with Sales Service Delivery, Engineering, and or G&A functions
  • Strong understanding of broad-based compensation programs (base/bonus/equity), pay for performance, benchmarking/market data, job evaluation, etc
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and a deep interest in analyzing data to drive sound decision-making
  • Proven organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and work well in an environment with competing demands
  • Commitment to take ownership, be hands-on and drive projects and processes end-to-end
  • Ability to operate in an ambiguous, continuously changing, fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills in English
