Overview
The Desktop Engineer Sr. Associate is a key contributor to ISS’s global IT Service Delivery organization. The successful candidate will be a primary contributor to the Desktop Engineering team within IT Service Delivery and enjoys the challenge of implementing and managing technologies used by our workforce in their day to date operations. This candidate must demonstrate solid technical expertise, ability to priorities, willingness to learn and excellent customer success skills.
The Engineer should be highly independent, drive new solutions and/or resolutions, be confident in handling issues and drive processes with minimum guidance. The position will also provide 3rd level global support to ISS offices across US, EMEA and APAC as required. This role incorporates the traits of an independent thinker, highly engaged communicator, technical expert, and a problem solver.
Responsibilities
- Infrastructure design, setup with Intune Microsoft Endpoint Management - Responsible for device management, maintaining the Intune/Autopilot environment application packaging/deployment, Windows patching, hardware specs, etc.
- Administer, and integrate co-management (Intune-SCCM) to Intune Azure cloud.
- Setup of Policies - M365 Security Products (Microsoft Defender ATP, MDAV, Azure RMS)
- Package and deploy applications using Intune.
- Build, configure, and deploy software and applications through the management software packages, and conduct audits for unlicensed software; research, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues.
- Manage Office365 functions, including managing users, groups, and policies.
- Coordinate with other IT departments as necessary to assist with the planning, design, configuration, implementation, and deployment of applications and management systems.
- Review and report on the health of the desktop environment to ensure deployed hardware and operating systems are compliant with security standards, routinely patched and vulnerabilities are addressed.
- Ensure desktop computers interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers and administrative systems.
- Assist with Infrastructure/Datacenter management tasks as required.
- Work with procurement staff to purchase hardware and software.
- Assess functional needs to determine specifications for purchases and deployments.
- Work collaboratively with 1st/2nd/3rd level support team to ensure that customers receive timely service as required.
- Document IT desktop engineering procedures as directed.
- Apply a “business” focus to all assignments and responsibilities, measurement of results, and associated reporting.
- Support the development and implementation of related global support standards, processes, and documentation.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- 3 years’ experience in creating, troubleshooting, and deploying autopilot deployments, applications, and patches with Intune and deployment rings.
- 3 years’ experience in Intune Azure Cloud Migration and supporting Windows 10/11 & Office 365 products.
- 5 years’ experience in building, installing, configuring, troubleshooting, and supporting PCs and laptops.
- 3-5 years’ experience in Microsoft’s Active Directory and Group Policy.
- Extensive experience with Azure Ad and Intune, specifically focusing on Intune implementation and management.
- Experience with MacOS device Management – AirWatch or Intune MDM, VMWare Horizon, Workspace One is a plus.
- Experience in ServiceNow, Jira, Remedy, or similar service delivery application a plus.
- Knowledge of various hardware platforms including Dell, Lenovo, HP, and Apple, and ability to support iOS and Android mobile devices.
- First-hand knowledge of writing PowerShell scripts from scratch.
- Knowledge of structured Service Desk functions and operation under ITIL framework
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, telephone manners and a friendly disposition.
- Able to define & document IT/Product support procedures as required.
- Able to learn new concepts and business processes rapidly with the enthusiasm to deliver high quality service.
- Able to remain calm and focused in a highly pressurized and time-oriented environment.
- Able to demonstrate a high degree of flexibility, including in working hours, to support employees and customers across multiple time zones.
- Microsoft certifications such as Microsoft 365 Certified: Enterprise Administrator Expert, Microsoft Certified: Endpoint Manager Administrator Associate, or related certifications are highly desirable.
- Strong critical thinking, analytic and problem-solving abilities.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
