The Director, Sales at Disney Advertising is responsible for driving revenue growth for the Indy West Team. This involves managing a portfolio of agencies and clients, fostering strong relationships across strategy, investment, and social teams. Responsibilities include planning and directing sales activities, providing guidance to account executives, ensuring data accuracy, responding to requests, managing RFPs, collaborating with internal teams and segment partners (like ESPN), devising ad packages, and promoting a diverse and inclusive team culture. The role requires strong leadership, sales acumen, data analysis skills, and effective communication across various levels and departments. Success hinges on meeting defined sales targets for both addressable and linear advertising.

Job Summary:

This role is responsible for driving addressable and linear revenue growth for The Indy West Team, which includes an assigned list of agencies and clients. The Director must foster and maintain strong relationships across the strategy, investment, and social teams at the assigned agencies while elevating and growing our relationships with clients directly.

Responsibilities and Duties of the Role:

  • Plans, directs and controls the sales activities for an assigned client group.
  • Provide day to day guidance and leadership to Account/Executives and Associate Account Executives and are held accountable for achieving defined Addressable & Linear sales targets for Team Indy.
  • Responsible for ensuring the accuracy of Team Indy West's data in systems like Salesforce and other ad hoc reporting tools.
  • Guide in responding proactively to all requests; guide all RFPs to key DAS stakeholders so that critical deadlines are achieved.
  • Work closely with Indy VPs  to develop and execute on the sales strategy for assigned client group.
  • Partner with DAS’s internal teams including Enablement, Ad Operations, Revenue Management, Transactional Sales, Business Operations and Client & Brand Solutions and our segment partners, including ESPN, DMED Technology, Finance, and others to devise ad packages and drive creativity throughout the entire sales process.
  • Ensure we have a diverse team and a positive culture of inclusion.

Required Education, Experience/Skills/Training:

Required:

  • 10+ years of overall experience with 8+ years of direct selling experience in advertising sales with relevant sales experience in a media organization
  • Experience in premium TV and addressable advertising sales, understanding and delivering direct and programmatic sales
  • Experience with optimized linear and addressable television, as well as experience working with agencies focusing on new media
  • Strong understanding of new media technologies
  • A change leader with experience guiding new teams to deliver revenue
  • Experience interfacing with executives, clients and agencies
  • Experienced leader of data driven sales managing the sales cycle with advanced campaign measurement and attribution
  • Effective Sales Leader with an established history of prospecting new clients, generating leads and closing sales
  • Able to simply and compellingly present complex marketing programs to clients. Able to lead brainstorming sessions as the need and situations demand
  • Manage multiple projects with tight deadlines; communicate effectively with a range of executives, department teams and clients
  • Ability to perform at a high level even when faced with unexpected change; creative problem solver in dealing with difficult or unexpected challenges
  • Be willing to take risks to ensure creative thinking and the best outcomes possible
  • Able to work with data, create solutions and deal with ambiguity
  • Ability to travel based on business needs

Preferred Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

The hiring range for this position in Santa Monica, CA is $221,100 to $270,100 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
