Job Description

The Key Account Manager is the main point of contact for all customer-specific matters. They are responsible for building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships and overseeing customer account management, including contract and agreement negotiations to maximize profit. The Key Account Manager will develop annual business plans, deliver product presentations, proposals, and ad plans, understand customer timelines, and provide all necessary information for decision-making. They will also manage budgets, analyze data to maximize business opportunities, communicate efficiently, and work with the team to deliver the best possible customer service. Furthermore, they will gain a thorough understanding of business objectives, develop sales and marketing plans, coordinate trade marketing and marketing activity, and work closely with accounts to agree on objectives for sales growth.
Must have:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or Marketing.
  • 3-5 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated success managing a business portfolio.
Good to have:
  • Retail experience either at store level or retail planning experience is an asset.
  • Proficiency in MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Salesforce an asset.

Job Description:

Spin Master is a leading global children's entertainment company, creating exceptional play experiences through it’s three creative centres: Toys, Entertainment and Digital Games. With distribution in over 100 countries, Spin Master is best known for award-winning brands PAW Patrol®, Bakugan®, Kinetic Sand®, Air Hogs®, Hatchimals®, Rubik’s Cube® and GUND®, and is the global toy licensee for other popular properties.

What will you work on?

The Key Account Manager is the lead point of contact for all matters specific to his/her customers. They are responsible for building and maintaining strong, long-lasting customer relationships, overseeing customer account management, including negotiating contracts and agreements to maximise the profit.


How will you create impact?

  • Developing annual business plans that deliver upon company goals and meet customer needs
  • Deliver product presentations, business proposals and ad plans to customers on time
  • Understand the customer timelines and proactively provide customers with all information and materials required to make decisions and manage business effectively
  • Work with support team to develop forecasts that best reflect market realities; update forecasts as required, on a monthly basis as a minimum
  • Timely and effective review of actual performance to ensure goals are achieved and adjust plans as necessary
  • Manage customer specific budgets and update salesforce
  • Analysis of sell through data and market intelligence to maximise business opportunities while minimising risk
  • Communicate clearly and efficiently with customers; and provide fast solutions to challenges
  • Work proactively and effectively with team members to deliver best possible customer service
  • Work in a team environment, providing feedback and coaching to your account management team
  • Quickly gain a thorough understanding of all account business objectives and marketing plans by gaining multi-level and cross functional contacts within your account portfolio
  • Develop innovative sales and marketing led account plans that will maximise Spin Master Italia’s performance within each account
  • Co-ordinate trade marketing and marketing activity within your accounts to ensure delivery of planned volume, distribution and profit targets
  • Maximise account profitability through strategic business planning including delivery of volume, revenue and margin and creative promotional work and good use of data to provide category solutions
  • Work closely with accounts to gain joint agreement on objectives for sales growth whilst managing each account selections process
  • Negotiate at senior level to ensure Spin Master Italia maximises the advantage of long term supply agreements and optimises all elements of the marketing mix
  • Accurate forecasting and working closely with the planning team to ensure stock is delivered to accounts as required
  • Flexibility regarding accounts managed
  • Actively work as part of a team to create a solution oriented culture, leading by example
  • Maintain and further develop the strong commercial and personal relationships between Spin Master Italia and the account base and ensure Spin Master Italia remains a preferred supplier


What are your skills and experience?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related area
  • 3-5 years of experience in similar role, Toy industry background preferred
  • Demonstrated success managing a business portfolio with a national retailer, toys retailer preferred
  • Retail experience either at store level or retail planning experience is an asset
  • Customer driven approach and a “go-getter” attitude
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships, both externally and internally
  • Proficiency in MS Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Salesforce an asset
  • Demonstrated organisational, planning and communication skills
  • Goal oriented to achieve targets through self-motivation, persistence determination
  • Ability to create and maintain business presentations, Excel files, read POS reports
  • Able to travel, full clean driving license
