The Lead Tax Manager will be a crucial part of the tax team, responsible for overseeing tax and transfer pricing compliance and strategy across SimCorp entities. This role involves providing day-to-day tax support to stakeholders, ensuring compliance with local and international tax rules, with a focus on EMEA, and potentially Americas and APAC. The Lead Tax Manager will oversee tax operations, manage tax compliance, tax controversy, and advisory to stakeholders, including tax audits and risk assessment. This includes reviewing tax returns, monitoring compliance deadlines, and assisting in tax reporting. The role requires managing external tax service providers, and staying up-to-date with tax law developments.

Good to have:
  • Knowledge of the Danish tax system.
  • Good general accounting/finance skills.

WHY THIS ROLE IS IMPORTANT TO US 

The Lead Tax Manager will be an integral part of our tax team, a specialized subset within Group Finance. Our team is responsible for overseeing the tax and transfer pricing compliance and strategy across all 40+ SimCorp entities.  

Based at our headquarters in Copenhagen or Warsaw (one of our key finance locations), this role offers an exciting opportunity to shape SimCorp's tax strategy and ensure compliance across our global operations.  

We’re looking for a skilled Tax Manager, who will be responsible for providing day-to-day tax support to our stakeholders for various markets ensuring full compliance with all local and internationally applicable tax rules. The countries covered will mainly include EMEA, but also potentially Americas and APAC.   The exact countries will be based on your experience and interest.  

Reporting directly to the Global Head of Tax, your primary responsibility will be to oversee comprehensive tax operations, ensuring compliance and efficiency across SimCorp entities. In this vital role, you will adopt a comprehensive approach to managing tax compliance, tax controversy and tax advisory to stakeholders.  

  

WHAT YOU WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR 

  • Tax Compliance - Provide timely support to our stakeholders including business, legal, and within the finance team, covering all aspects of tax with a focus on reviewing and managing the tax matters for various countries. This includes reviewing tax returns, monitoring compliance deadlines and assisting in tax reporting at quarterly and year-end reporting to ensure fully compliant.

  • Tax Audits - Manage the tax audits in the various jurisdictions in close corporation with the local financial controllers and rest of the Tax Team colleagues.   

  • Risk management – Assess and monitor potential tax risks and support analysis of Uncertain Tax Positions to ensure accurate information in our Financial Statements.   

  • Advisory - Work closely with Group Finance, subsidiary finance teams, external tax advisors, and tax authorities to provide tax advice in all matters of relevance for tax compliance and ensuring that tax is accounted for correctly in our local financial statements.   

  • Manage external tax service providers - oversee tax service providers and liaise with our statutory auditors on tax matters.   

  • Keeping up-to-date with Tax Law Developments and changes in the jurisdictions where Simcorp operates.   

 

WHAT WE VALUE

Experience and Education:   

  • Minimum 5 years international tax experience in industry or consultancy with emphasis on working with multinational groups for various markets.    

  • Relevant education such as lawyer, CPA, economist or education from tax administration or any combination thereof.  


Skills and Knowledge:  

  • Solid international tax knowledge about corporate income tax and indirect tax in a global organization with comprehensive understanding and experience in dealing with various direct and indirect taxes topics that may affect day-to-day business operations.   

  • Knowledge of the Danish tax system is beneficial.  

  • Proven ability to manage complex tax projects and deliver results.  

  • Act as an owner with a proactive approach to driving changes and improvements in tax practices.  

  • Effective analytical and interpersonal skills with the ability to build solid relations with internal stakeholders and teams.  

  • High attention to detail and the ability to work independently.   

  • Good general accounting/finance skills and experience. Experience with financial systems (ERP, consolidation tools and management reporting tools) is beneficial. 

  • Advanced communication skills, with fluency in English (both verbal and written).
