This role’s primary focus is on ensuring an inclusive, intuitive, immersive, rewarding, and memorable experience. To achieve this requires working in a truly cross-departmental environment and constantly researching, observing, and iterating on the user’s experience in UI navigation, game flow, and moment-to-moment interactive clarity. • Create materials to demonstrate concepts through sketches, wireframes, mockups, etc.
  • Oversee the creation of UI screens and assets and coordinate with UI Artists and other departments to ensure project-wide needs are being met.
  • Design and prototype layouts, navigation schema, and general usability.
  • Define goals for, and participate in, playtests to refine UX from player feedback and behaviors.
  • Work closely with UX Researchers and translate user research, marketing and brand insights, and community feedback into player-oriented design.
  • Produce and maintain design documentation and work with Production to ensure they can be implemented with time and resources available.
  • Keep in constant communication with the team to solicit feedback and constantly hone your work.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a UX/UI Designer and 1 year as a Lead UX Designer.
  • Shipped at least one AAA title.
  • Extensive knowledge of current game titles and best practices to use as reference for crafting and communicating original ideas.
  • Ability to work independently to identify and own work and deliver complete results.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard prototyping tools (e.g. Figma, Sketch, Creative Cloud) and collaboration tools (e.g. Miro).
  • In-depth knowledge of UI/UX best practices and information architecture.
  • Interest in implementing and iterating on UX features in Unreal Engine.
  • Very good communication and presentation skills.
  • Able to give and receive feedback that’s productive, constructive, and aims to improve the project and the team.
  • Curiosity, kindness, and a positive and professional can-do attitude.

  • Experience as a UX Designer on a multiplayer game.
  • Experiencing mocking up prototypes and wireframes in Unreal Engine.
