In this Material Specialist role, you will be responsible for coordinating and processing all material requisitions, inventory management and supporting engineering teams in procurement and purchasing activities.

This full-time position reports to the Director of Engineering and will be working onsite at our breathtaking Aulani Resort on Oahu, Hawaii.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for processing spare and replacement orders, researching problems and tracking orders
  • Processes, coordinates and expedites material requisitions for FOS and other related lines of business including reconciliation and processing invoices for material purchases through SAP
  • Responsible for procurement activities including text, e-source, WDC creation, and assists planners with stock and non-stock requests to support planned work orders.  
  • Purchase Order (PO), invoice and payment tracking in Microsoft office applications, SAP and other systems
  • May support purchasing of materials for service stock and coordinates the efficient movement of materials with purchasing and customer base
  • May at times supervise inventory levels, excess and obsolete based on historical and current data.  Use systems to initiate purchase requisitions as needed.  Coordinates shipping and receiving with planners, Sourcing & Procurement, Distribution Services, and WDW shared services?
  • Review ECFs and partner with local Planners and Engineering team to determine material impact on purchased materials to insure configuration control
  • Admin functions relating to Inventory management
  • Coordinates with support functions at WDW and DLR? as necessary
  • Assist with on-the-job training for the first 90 days for newly hired Material Specialists
  • Adheres to all WDW Policies and Guidelines to include role specific such as Quality Assurance and Procurement Guidelines for Material Controls

Here’s what you will need to be successful in the job:

  • 2 years of work experience in purchasing/materials control or related area
  • Analytical & administrative experience with a high level of attention to detail
  • Understanding of purchasing processes & procedures
  • Ability to use and master DLR Systems such as SAP, & Coupa, SmarTeam or related
  • Computer skills and strong proficiency in Microsoft office applications
  • Ability to work cross functional with other lines of business; Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Must be self-directed, motivated with the ability to work and function with minimum supervision; Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Analyze problems and determine appropriate actions
  • Creatively and consistently pursues solutions to problems working toward continuous process improvement
  • Position includes both office (approx. 50%) and field work (50%) and requires occasional lifting and/or carrying up to 25 pounds.

Education

  • Required: High School Diploma or comparable
  • Preferred: Associate degree or higher

The pay rate for this role in Hawaii is $23.16 to $33.29 per hour. The base pay actually offered may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, among other factors.
