ShyftLabs is seeking a skilled QA Engineer with 3-4 years of experience to join their quality assurance team. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in API testing and database testing, with a passion for ensuring software quality and reliability across their products. ShyftLabs is a growing data product company that works primarily with Fortune 500 companies, delivering digital solutions to accelerate business growth through innovation. Responsibilities include designing, developing, and executing test plans for web applications, APIs, and databases, performing various types of testing, conducting thorough API and database testing using relevant tools, identifying and tracking defects, and collaborating with development teams. The role also involves designing and implementing automated API test suites, validating API responses, and performing end-to-end API testing. Database testing includes validating data integrity, writing complex SQL queries, testing database triggers and stored procedures, and performing data migration and performance testing. The company also offers extensive learning and development resources.
Must have:
- Design, develop, execute test plans for web apps, APIs, databases
- Perform functional, integration, regression, performance testing
- Conduct API testing using Postman, REST Assured
- Execute database testing including data validation, CRUD operations
- Identify, document, track software defects
- Collaborate with development teams to resolve issues
- Design automated API test suites
- Validate API responses, status codes, headers, payload
- Perform end-to-end API testing
- Test RESTful and SOAP web services
- Create and maintain API documentation and test data
- Validate database operations including data integrity
- Write and execute complex SQL queries
- Test database triggers, stored procedures, functions
- Perform data migration and database performance testing
- Ensure proper database security and access controls
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using Playwright, Selenium with Java
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Maintain test environments and test data management
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Proficient in SQL and database concepts
- Experience with API testing and REST web services
- Knowledge of Java and Playwright automation tool
- Experience with Git
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies

Job Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for web applications, APIs, and database systems (Testing & Quality Assurance)
- Perform functional, integration, regression, and performance testing across multiple platforms
- Conduct thorough API testing using tools like Postman, REST Assured, or similar frameworks
- Execute database testing including data validation, CRUD operations, triggers, and stored procedures
- Identify, document, and track software defects using bug tracking tools
- Collaborate with development teams to reproduce and resolve issues
- Design and implement automated API test suites using tools such as Postman (API Testing)
- Validate API responses, status codes, headers, and payload structures
- Perform end-to-end API testing including authentication, authorization, and error handling scenarios
- Test RESTful and SOAP web services across different environments
- Create and maintain API documentation and test data sets
- Validate database operations including data integrity, consistency, and accuracy (Database Testing)
- Write and execute complex SQL queries for data validation and verification
- Test database triggers, stored procedures, functions, and views
- Perform data migration testing and database performance testing
- Ensure proper database security and access controls
- Develop and maintain automated test scripts using frameworks like Playwright, Selenium using java (Automation & Tools)
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines
- Maintain test environments and test data management
Basic Qualification:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)
- Proficient in SQL and database concepts (MySQL, PostgreSQL or SQL Server)
- Experience with API testing and REST web services
- Knowledge of programming languages such as Java and automation tool(Playwright)
- Experience with version control systems (Git)
- Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies
