Philips is seeking a Verification Test Equipment Engineer to join their Oral Healthcare team in Bothell, WA. This role focuses on developing next-generation Sonicare products. The engineer will support Systems Engineering and the Test & Verification Lab by ensuring product testing equipment is designed, maintained, and optimized to meet stringent design requirements. Responsibilities include keeping equipment in optimal condition, assisting with troubleshooting custom-developed test equipment, collaborating with project teams to improve test methods, creating calibration and maintenance procedures, and managing spare parts inventory. The role requires occasional travel and the ability to work in a global R&D environment.
Must have:
  • 5+ years of experience in test and verification within product development
  • Hands-on experience with pneumatic actuators and systems, sensors, measurement systems, and vision systems
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics/Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional engineering experience
  • Willingness to travel occasionally
  • Ability to work in a global R&D innovation environment and collaborate with test equipment partners
Good to have:
  • Experience related to the development and testing of medical (FDA regulated) products (ISO 13485, 21CFR820)
  • LabVIEW, Matlab or Python programming experience

Verification Test Equipment Engineer

Verification Test Equipment Engineer (Bothell, WA)

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Oral Healthcare team as a Verification Test Equipment Engineer, contributing to the development of next-generation Sonicare products.  In this fast-paced role, you will support Systems Engineering and the Test & Verification Lab by ensuring that product testing equipment is designed, maintained, and optimized to effectively verify that products meet stringent design requirements.  Your work will be critical in enabling robust product testing and analysis to deliver world-class oral health innovations.

Your role:

  • You will be responsible for keeping assembly, measurement, and test equipment in a product development laboratory environment in optimal condition.
  • Assist project engineers and lab technicians in troubleshooting a broad range of custom developed assembly and test equipment.
  • Collaborate with product development project teams to improve test methods, recommend, and implement improvements to test equipment, and adapt test equipment to newly developed products.
  • Create calibration and maintenance procedures and work instruction and perform scheduled calibration and preventive maintenance to automated and semi-automated test equipment (custom developed and off-the-shelf).
  • Follow all regulations, safety guidelines, and equipment operating/maintenance procedures to meet specific requirements.
  • Manage inventory of spare parts, consumables, and tools necessary to support installed equipment.

You're the right fit if:

  • You’ve acquired 5+ years of experience in the field of test and verification within product development is preferred.  Experience related to the development and testing of medical (FDA regulated) products is a plus. (ISO 13485, 21CFR820).
  • Your skills include Hands on experience with pneumatic actuators and systems, sensors, measurement systems, and vision systems. LabVIEW, Matlab or Python programming experience a plus.
  • You have a Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics/Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional engineering experience.
  • You are willing to travel occasionally in support of new equipment development projects.
  • You must be able to successfully perform the following minimum Physical, Cognitive and Environmental job requirements with or without accommodation for this position.
  • You have an Ability to work in a global R&D innovation environment and collaborate with test equipment partners in Europe and Asia.

How we work together

We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week. Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities. Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.

Philips Transparency Details

The pay range for this position in (Bothell, WA) is $110,000 to $177,000

The actual base pay offered may vary within the posted ranges depending on multiple factors including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.   

In addition, other compensation, such as an annual incentive bonus, sales commission or long-term incentives may be offered.  Employees are eligible to participate in our comprehensive Philips Total Rewards benefits program, which includes a generous PTO, 401k (up to 7% match), HSA (with company contribution), stock purchase plan, education reimbursement and much more.  Details about our benefits can be found here

At Philips, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each case.

Company relocation benefits will not be provided for this position.  For this position, you must reside in or within commuting distance to Bothell, WA.
