Are you an experienced finance professional looking for your next exciting role with an iconic and innovative brand? Would you like to use your experience to make a difference in a highly visible role? We are looking for a Director of Financial Reporting, to join our Global Record to Report (RTR) team! You'll lead the Commercial Asia R2R team across in Malaysia and China, in partnership with our Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) provider, Infosys.  

 

Reporting to the Global Process Owner (GPO) – RTR, this is a critical role in our Global RTR Business Services function. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations, identifying efficient accounting and business processes, coordinating continuous improvement and system solutions, collaboratively partnering with internal teams on projects and implementing standard processes. Working closely with the RTR GPO, you will support the successful transition to the RTR Business Services operating model for all countries and entities for Commercial Asia. You will work alongside your peers in the other regions to drive standardization. Success in this role requires being innovative, with a strong work ethic and strong leadership characterized by a straightforward style, approachability, a team orientation, and collaboration. A day in the life of the Director of Financial Reporting: 

  • Run the Asia RTR delivery, ensuring execution of the global RTR solution with any regional nuances or deviations agreed, working closely with your regional peers. Responsible for completion in terms of both timeliness and quality of all internal and external accounting and compliance requirements for all Hasbro entities under your remit. 

  • Lead the day-to-day operations of the inhouse Asia RTR team of five, providing outstanding service levels to all markets served, including inhouse staff development and training, performance management and recruitment. You will also lead the work product and provide oversight to our outsourced team from our BPO Partner. 

  • Serve as a local Business Partner, provide regional expertise, and work closely with internal partners, including but not limited to IT and Operations team. 

  • Define and drive Performance Management requirements and solutions to be implemented by BPO, participating in regular governance and working in partnership to improve performance as required. Responsible to ensure that the work product delivered by the BPO is to deemed standards of accuracy and timeliness. 

  • Help BPO navigate Hasbro internal networks, providing support and assistance to resolve issues.  

  • Ensure the appropriate RTR involvement in all projects and change initiatives impacting RTR from a skills, knowledge and resourcing perspective, including initiatives driven by RTR GPO, OTC or PTP GPOs, Regional or Global leadership.  

 

What you’ll bring: 

  • A qualified Accountant with 10+ years of hands-on experience in accounting and finance roles of growing responsibility. 

  • Strong accounting skills and technical knowledge on financial reporting matters.  A solid understanding of US GAAP and SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance requirements is desirable.  

  • Experience of managing a team of accountants in a multi-national FMCG type environment, ready to step in with coaching, counsel, and training to reinforce good business practices and processes. 

  • Experience initiating & delivering ongoing improvements within an international financial accounting team. 

  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, able to engage large teams of people.  

  • Knowledge of new technologies and solutions advantageous. 

  • Knowledge of Performance Management/BI tools and processes, including application of reporting and analytics capabilities is desirable.  

  • Strategic agility, Project management with the ability to lead change, and advanced analytical problem-solving skills. 

  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment and make sound business decisions. 

  • Ability to earn trust and credibility within the organization, and capable of developing effective business relationships with all members of the company’s senior leadership team.
