The Job - Part Time Finance Administrator
Your new role is a great opportunity to join a fast-growing, creative games studio as our Finance Administrator and become the backbone of our day-to-day finance operations. Bringing a high level of accuracy and attention to detail, you'll play a key role in maintaining the financial health of the studio — from managing accounts payable and receivable to reconciling bank accounts and supporting payroll and VAT processes.
While taking ownership of the day to day finances, you’ll be working closely with our fractional Finance Director and reporting to our Executive Operations Manager, helping us to manage and allocate our resources effectively. Day to day tools will include programs such as Xero and HubDoc while we use documents and spreadsheets in Google.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and in small teams will be key to effectively carry out your role.
You'll have the opportunity to work hybrid, between our office at Hartlepool Marina and working from home. The position is part time, 20 hours per week split over five days. There is also potential for this to evolve into a full time role over time.
If a fine eye for accuracy and detail, balancing the books and organising accounts in a forward-thinking games studio sounds like a job for you please hit apply today!
What you’ll need to succeed:
Proven background as a Finance Assistant or similar role with an SME.
Advanced understanding of Bookkeeping and experience in Accounting & VAT Management.
Fluency in financial software packages such as Xero/Sage & Hubdoc/Quickbooks.
Proficiency in Google Sheets/Docs or Microsoft Excel.
Strong competency with Payroll, HMRC and pension calculations.
AAT qualification at levels 2 or 3.

Competency based interview (45-60 minutes) – A more formal interview with our Finance/Operations hiring managers. This will be a chance for us to get to know each other and for us to talk about your finance experience and ambitions in detail. We prefer this to be in the form of a discussion rather than exam style questions.
Final interview (45-60 minutes) – A final interview with our company directors or members of our management team.
