Job Description

Survios seeks a Gameplay Animator to elevate animation quality and innovation. Responsibilities include animating characters, creatures, and props for gameplay, from prototyping to final animations; creating custom hand-keyed animations and performing motion capture cleanup and implementation; collaborating with designers, engineers, and tech artists; previs and scene building for cinematics; and providing constructive feedback. The ideal candidate will have 2-4 years of game industry experience, exceptional keyframe animation skills, strong mocap cleanup and integration abilities, and excellent collaboration skills.

Survios currently has an opening for a talented Gameplay Animator to help push the quality and innovation to the next level with our talented Animation Team!

Responsibilities:

  • Animate characters, creatures and props for gameplay to a high standard of quality, from initial prototyping to final animations.

  • Create custom hand keyed animations as well as performing motion capture clean up and implementation.

  • Collaborate with Designers, Engineers, and Tech Artists to create and implement animations.

  • Previs and build scenes for cinematics as needed.

  • Provide constructive feedback to animation team members.

Requirements:

  • 2 - 4 years in the video game industry.

  • Gameplay animation experience.

  • Game engine integration experience.

  • Excellent keyframe animation skills.

  • Strong understanding of advanced animation principles and techniques.

  • Excellent mocap cleanup and integration skills.

  • A great eye for style and quality.

  • Collaboration with design and engineering.

  • Ability to solve gameplay problems and work with other departments.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Willingness to share knowledge to improve the Animation Team.

  • Highly motivated and proactive.

  • Team player mentality.

  • Strong organizational skills.

Pluses:

  • Unreal Engine experience.

  • Technical animation knowledge i.e. scripts, constraints, dynamics.

  • Experience with facial animation.

  • A strong sense for game and combat design.

  • AAA experience.

Base salary range between $90,000 USD - $105,000 USD (Base salary range for applicants located within the United States)

Survios takes into consideration a candidate’s education, training, and experience, external market and internal value, including seniority and merit systems, and internal pay alignment when determining the salary level for potential new employees. In compliance with the California Law, a potential new employee’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
