This internship offers a hands-on experience in an international HR environment. The intern will assist in the roll-out of the new global Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System - Workday, focusing on the HR and Recruitment elements. Responsibilities include assisting in setting up support and guidance documents, working with staff across Europe on system familiarization, and providing administrative support to the HR & Operations Team. This position offers an opportunity for an individual interested in a career in HR with a focus on information systems, reporting, and data. The internship will be based at the WRI Europe office in The Hague.

About the program:

WRI Europe Operations & HR Team: WRI’s Europe Office has a core Operations Team made up of colleagues working across, Operations, Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Finance, IT and Grants & Contracts. These colleagues provide Operations support across our European Offices: London, The Hague and a Programme Office in Bonn.

The WRI Europe HR and Operations team supports multiple aspects of each employee’s time at WRI, from hiring and induction, to employee benefits and professional development, through development and application of global and local systems and policies.

Internship Highlight:

This internship is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in an international HR environment.

You will primarily be assisting in the roll out of our new global Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System - Workday, which encompasses systems from Operations, Finance, IT and HR. Your focus will be on the HR & Recruitment elements of this system, assisting colleagues within the Europe HR & Operations team in setting up of support/guidance documents and working with staff across Europe on familiarization with the system.

This is a great opportunity for an individual interested in a career in HR with a focus on information systems, reporting and data.

Your internship supervisor will be Eleanor Good, HR Manager. You will have the opportunity to work with colleagues across our offices in Europe.

What you will do:

Assist in the roll out of the new global ERP - Workday (80%):

  • Familiarization with the Workday system
  • Review and update internal guidance for the HR & Operations team on existing processes integrating the new system (Workday)
  • Attend sessions with staff to work together and demonstrate Workday functionality
  • Work with staff to troubleshoot system queries
  • Support other ad hoc related queries i.e. checking, editing & inputting data, reviewing system functionality

HR & Operations Team Support (20%):

  • Administrative Support for the HR & Operations Team
  • Ad hoc support requests.

What you will need:

  • Enjoy working both as a part of a team and independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational & time management skills
  • Currently pursuing a degree in Human Resources, Business Studies, Organisational Management or related field.
  • Interns at WRI Europe must be registered in a study program with a Dutch college or university for the full duration of the internship.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.

Conditions of the internship:

  • This is a 6-month internship with a start date of 22 September 2025.
  • This internship will be based at the WRI Europe office in the Hague with some flexibility to work from home.
  • This internship offers a reimbursement of 700 euros per month based on full-time working hours (32 hours per week).
