Job Description

Kojima Productions is seeking a Level Designer to join their team as a contract employee. Responsibilities include designing maps according to the director's vision, creating game element specifications, adjusting enemy and item placement, building missions with visual scripting, and fine-tuning parameters. Candidates must have native-level Japanese proficiency, experience developing at least one game title as a level designer or background artist, and strong logical thinking and communication skills. The role is based in Tokyo, with telework available, and offers benefits like health check-ups and a commuting allowance.
Must have:
  • Design maps based on director's vision.
  • Create specifications for game elements, including flow and screen definitions.
  • Adjust placement of enemies and items on maps.
  • Build missions and events using visual scripting.
  • Perform various parameter adjustments.
  • Native-level Japanese proficiency.
  • At least one game title development experience as a level designer or background artist.
  • Possess logical thinking and appropriate communication skills.
Good to have:
  • Development experience with Unreal Engine, Unity, etc.
  • Experience using text-based or visual-based scripting languages
  • Experience designing maps using 3D tools
  • Experience with enemy placement and balance adjustment in action games

Working Hours

Discretionary labor system or 10:00~18:45

  • Working hours are generally based on a 10:00 start time and are left to individual discretion.

Holidays

Complete two-day weekend system (Saturday and Sunday) and public holidays, summer vacation, year-end and New Year holidays, paid leave, congratulatory and condolence leave.
