Team/Job Summary: Within IT’s Consumer Online & Publishing department, the 3PT team manages a suite of tools that serve game developers in approving and publishing their games on the Nintendo Switch platform. In this role you will manage the team of engineers building and maintaining the systems used to get games into the hands of gamers. From the web portal developers use to describe products, to tracking a game's certification, to ordering and printing game cartridges, you will support the team writing the software to power every step of the process. Ideal candidates will have a deep, firsthand experience with software engineering and experience shipping and maintaining live services. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES:

  • Plans, coordinates, directs, and designs activities of the organization, as well as providing administrative direction and support for daily operational activities of the department.

  • Works closely with decision makers in other departments to identify, recommend, develop, implement, and support cost-effective software solutions for all aspects of the organization.

  • Monitors and maintains hardware/software technology to ensure maximum access and efficient, secure, and stable environments.

  • Establishes and manages appropriate standards and controls, policies, and procedures for assigned areas.

  • Establishes and manages team and department goals, objectives, and metrics.

  • Supports senior leadership with long-term tactical plan development.

  • Oversees and manages contracts, budgets, and vendors.

  • Collaborates with other teams and business constituents to provide day to day operational support and project excellence.

  • Ensures issues are identified, tracked, reported on and resolved in timely manner including root cause analysis.

  • Creates disaster recovery plans, scripts, and tests.

  • Ensures work is compliant with established processes, JSOX and other internal controls (i.e., SDLC, change management, production control, following standards, architecture review, incident response, PCI and PII information security, etc.).

  • Manage, develop, and oversee a team of 5-10 software engineers. Conduct interviews for contractors as well as full time employees, providing feedback and guiding hiring decisions for the team.

SUMMARY OF REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires a minimum of six to eight (6 – 8) years of related experience, including previous people management experience.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop staff in a dynamic environment.

  • Intermediate to advanced project and program management knowledge

  • Experience managing delivery of enterprise scale, complex applications.

  • Working experience with deployment automation, microservices architecture, and cloud-based development

  • Experience working with global development teams on enterprise web applications.

  • Background in full-stack end-to-end development experience preferred.

  • Passion for video games a plus

  • Technology stack includes serverless Java, Spring Boot, React, AWS (CDK, Lambda, S3), Kubernetes, GraphQL and more.

  • Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent or combination of education and experience. Depending on role, post-graduate coursework may be desirable.

Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States to be considered. Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

This position is hybrid in Redmond, WA. Hybrid positions require regular onsite work following the schedule and guidelines for their division. This position is not open to fully remote status at this time.

This position includes a base salary range of $137,000 - $246,500 annually, potential for a semi-annual discretionary performance bonus, and a comprehensive benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and paid time off.
