The Manager, Strategy & Business Development, DTCR APAC will support the development and implementation of Direct-to-Consumer Retail (DTCR) initiatives across the Asia-Pacific region. This role requires driving strategic growth, operational efficiency, and business transformation. Key responsibilities include overseeing DTCR model implementation (wholesale, direct-to-retail, etc.), implementing operational changes, process improvement, cross-functional collaboration, commercialization, project management, growth planning, risk management, deploying new distribution strategies, developing business cases, and building strong stakeholder relationships. The position also involves leading fulfillment and cost optimization for Hong Kong, Taiwan, and Singapore; streamlining product development; developing a liquidation strategy; and contributing to long-term planning.

We are seeking a Strategy and Business Development Manager to support the development, implementation, and operational management of Direct-to-Consumer Retail (DTCR) APAC initiatives. This role is critical in driving strategic growth, operational efficiencies, and business transformation across various key projects, ultimately enhancing business performance and customer experience in the APAC region.

Responsibilities:

Business Transformation:

  • Support Operationalization: Oversee the implementation of all DTCR models in APAC, including wholesale, direct-to-retail, partner-led stores, and pop-ups.
  • Drive Measurable Improvements: Implement operational changes to enhance business performance and support measurable outcomes.
  • Process Review and Improvement: Continuously review and refine processes, resources, and systems, making adjustments as necessary to optimize efficiency.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with key executives and stakeholders from Integrated Retail, Product Development, Sourcing, Licensing, Creative, Finance, and other departments to drive business initiatives.
  • Efficiency and Process Improvements: Lead efforts to improve processes by updating, revising, and creating new business models and templates.
  • Commercialization and Value Capture: Work closely with the leadership and DTCR team to explore new avenues for commercialization and incremental value capture.(i.e Pop ups, Marketplace, Travel Tourism)
  • Project Management: Manage business transformation initiatives across supply chain, IT, operations, and other internal processes.
  • Growth and Risk Planning: Develop and execute plans that drive business growth, improve efficiency, and manage risk, all supported by measurable KPIs.

Business Operations Enablement:

  • Deploy New Distribution Strategies: Oversee the rollout of new B2B and B2C distribution initiatives to expand market reach.
  • Business Case Development: Plan, coordinate, and present business cases for supply chain, commercialization, and operational projects.
  • New Business Models: Support the development of innovative business and logistics models for both new and existing projects.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders both internally and externally to facilitate successful project execution.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Fulfillment and Cost Optimization for Hong Kong, Taiwan and Singapore Lead initiatives to improve fulfillment processes and reduce costs for existing markets
  • Product Development Cross-Leverage and Coordination: Partner with regional and global teams to streamline product development processes, optimizing resources and expanding APAC product offerings both regionally and globally. This includes aligning assortments, conducting gap analyses, managing minimum order quantities (MOQs), overseeing replenishment strategies, and executing other essential tasks as needed.
  • Liquidation Strategy for DTCR APAC: Develop and operationalize a strategy for managing aged stock and maximizing value recovery.
  • Pricing Strategy and Product Assortment: Regularly review pricing and product assortment strategies to ensure market alignment and competitiveness.
  • Long-Term Planning (LTP): Collaborate with long-term planning efforts for DTCR, focusing on sustainable growth and strategic market positioning.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in business development, retail, or strategic planning, preferably within the consumer products or entertainment industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, or related field.
  • Proven track record in driving strategic projects with cross-functional and cross-regional teams.
  • Strong analytical and operational skills, with experience in pricing strategy, product lifecycle management, and market entry strategies.
  • Demonstrated experience in process improvement and business transformation initiatives.
