Job Description

The Resident Engineer will lead AECOM’s construction supervision projects, serving as the client's primary contact for all engineering matters. Responsibilities include managing contractors, ensuring safety, resolving site issues, presenting progress, and negotiating scope changes. The role also involves establishing project plans, directing site teams, performing engineering works, and reviewing technical deliverables, construction programs, specifications, and cost estimates. A Bachelor's degree in engineering and a minimum of 20 years of post-graduate experience in design and site supervision, particularly with UAE and STP experience, are required.
Must have:
  • Lead delivery (time, cost, quality) of assigned package.
  • Supervise and manage contractors to ensure works are constructed as per specification and milestone dates.
  • Manage and direct supervision team for day-to-day inspections.
  • Maintain a very high level of Safety awareness and ensure contractor compliance.
  • Resolve site issues on site.
  • Present progress and package issues to client team.
  • Negotiate changes to the scope of work with the Client and key subcontractors.
  • Follow up on instructions & commitments associated with the project.
  • Establish Project Execution Plan, Health & Safety Plan, Quality Control Plan and other documents.
  • Establish program requirements for all project areas and monitor site staff performance.
  • Plan, direct, supervise and control execution of all technical, fiscal and administrative functions.
  • Represent the company in all Client meetings.
  • Perform various engineering works and project/construction management for Roads construction.
  • Review and check technical deliverables.
  • Review construction programme, specifications and cost estimates.
  • Bachelor Degree in relevant Engineering field (e.g., Civil).
  • Minimum 20 years post graduate experience in design and site supervision.
  • UAE experience required.
  • STP experience is required.

Job Description

The Resident Engineer will lead AECOM’s construction supervision projects and act as the client’s main point of contact advising on all engineering matters.

Job Duties

  • Leads the delivery (time, cost, quality) of assigned package.
  • Supervise and manage the contractors to ensure the works are constructed as per specification and to established milestone dates.
  • Manage and direct the supervision team to undertake day to day inspections of the works.
  • Maintain a very high level of Safety awareness and ensure the contractor complies with his obligations.
  • Resolves site issues on site.
  • Presents progress and package issues to client team.
  • Negotiates changes to the scope of work with the Client and key subcontractors.
  • Responsible for following up on instructions & commitments associated with the project
  • Establishes Project Execution Plan, Health & Safety Plan, Quality Control Plan and other documents
  • Establishes the program requirements for all areas of the project and monitors site staff performance
  • Plans, directs, supervises and controls the execution of all technical, fiscal and administrative functions of the project and the site team
  • Assigns responsibility to key subordinates in their respective fields of expertise
  • Provides input to performance reviews and develop plans for subordinates
  • Establishes internal weekly meetings to review project status and formulate action items
  • Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate
  • Represent the company in all Client meetings.
  • Perform various engineering works and project/construction management for the project in Roads construction relevant.
  • Review and checking technical deliverables
  • Review construction programme, specifications and cost estimates

Qualifications

Qualification

  • Bachelor Degree in relevant Engineering field (i.e. Civil, etc.)
  • Engineering charter ship will be advantageous
  • Dubai Authorities’ understanding will be advantageous

Experience

  • A minimum 20 year's post graduate experience in the design, site supervision of the projects with a broad general engineering background.
  • UAE experience required, especially in UAE
  • STP experience is required
